CPU cooler for Ci7 6900K.

About two weeks ago I swapped my Core i7 5820K for a Core i7 6900K, and it's no secret it's a hot CPU. Currently running with at 25% overclock 3.2@4.0GHz with a Phanteks PH-TC12DX air cooler. Under stress testing for several hours in OCCT it hits these temperatures I don't know if thats acceptable or better cooling is needed.

I have therefore looked at some coolers that I know will be compatible with ram clearance and first PCI-E slot clearance. And also some coolers that fit my white,black,green colour scheme

4. Cryorig R 1 Universal

Which cooler would my CPU benefit most from regarding temperatures ?

BTW I have considered an AIO, but my "anxiety OCD" kicks in when I think of leakage.

TBH the temps are acceptable. Of course a lot of it depends on science.. Room temps, do you have AC in the summer? etc.

I would probably get a Noctua NH-D15 if I were sticking to air.

I have set it manually. The motherboard (MSI X99S Krait Edition) /cpu sets itself to 1.252v no matter value I set it to when using adaptive voltage. I set it to 1.180volt, but it goes to 1.252v regardless and I am using the latest BIOS. I can set it to manual, but I prefer the voltage to be lower when the cpu idles. I did try setting and offset with adaptive mode, but that also affects idle voltage making it drop too much (below 0.692v) and causes a lock up.:huh:

My Haswell-E 5820K didn't do this, and my wifes 5960X doens't do it either on her MSI X99S Gaming 7.

In the summer I have no AC, other than an open window, but it's fairly "cold" in the office in the summer months, since the sun isn't facing it directly - typically around 20~22°c. Now in the winther months around 18~19°c.

As for the Noctua NH-D15 it will block my first PCI-E slot. I have thought of the NH-D15S, but my build is black,white,green in colour so it's a clash in colours. I have though about getting the 2x Chromax 140mm black/white fans and a Chromax white CPU cooler cover to match the colour scheme - but all this would cost £148 that's a bit too steep for me
