Because many people are stupid. The end.

Wait a minute :cussing:

OP bottom line is that if you want to leave it on the carpet face it upwards, if there is amble air that the PSU can intake and it is on a solid surface facing downwards, then by all means it is just going to be personal preference. With that case you are going to get dust in it one way or another. Though honestly you should find a nicer case if you can.

Also is it just me of does it look rather dusty in there o-o

Comments like that are stupid........

OP:either turn it round if it bothers you that much OR stick it a bit of wood or a book under it,to raise it slightly.Either option is FREE,so you have nothing to lose.

This is the last time I comment on this thread.. so pay close attention!

Some people are afraid that the PSU will not have access to enough air if it is mounted with the fan facing down, so they end up installing it with the fan facing up. As long as your case is not sitting flush against the ground (it should have feet that raise it slightly), and you are NOT placing it directly on carpet or some other soft surface (which is not a good idea), then it’s perfectly safe to mount the PSU with the fan down.

Mounting the PSU with the fan facing up does not make any difference in the functionality of the PSU.

Clear enough?

I'm pretty sure this is a troll post as the same damn question has been asked about five times.

If you have a case like you do, leave the fan up.

Question has been answered multiple times.

@OP: If you still don't get it, I suggest you get a cup of tea and carefully read through the thread again. The answer is in there.... like 6 times :)
