Bootloop after delid ivy

This is similar to overclocking your processor to death and then trying to RMA that saying it failed on its own...

Tbh though - the OP hasn't actually replied - all this has been is someone advising him to do it - which I'm sure he won't anyway.

Everything was working before you delidded your cpu right ?

How did you manage to bend your socket pins between taking your cpu out, delidding it and putting it back in ?

I got a bootloop after delidding aswell, I got too excited and didn't pay enough attention to the mobo socket and hit some pins. Luckily only 2 memory lanes died, after taking some ram out of the broken lanes it worked fine again.

what mobo do you have its not an asus tuf mobo is it ?

right same as mine I run the same mobo

id have a very close look at the tracks from the cpu to the ram dims some of the tracks run very close to were the holes are for the cpu cooler its not hard to hit one wen trying to fit the cooler back on if you have hit one of the tracks theres nothing you can do about it and I know if you tried to rma the mobo with that type of damage thay will just send it back saying its your problem
I would say if you live in London id be happy for you to try your chip on my mobo but odds are you don't live London or the uk lol

I don't know what asrock are like for rma before this mobo ive never used one before ill have a look on there home page see what I can find out

Didn't know this thread would get so many replies, I didn't even check it anymore xd
Anyway, I bought a secondhand h67 board and my cpu is better than new. I contacted caseking saying that everything was fine before the delid, but that the mb pins were bent when taking the cpu out of the board. They told me to send them the board and they fix/replace/refund it. No need to deceive a company when they have a good costumer service.

Any idea what caused the bent pins ?

sometimes you can get lucky via rma and get a new board but it's not the usual thing.

usually mechanical failure is a loss of guarantee.

i saw some cases (twice in a 3 year period) where a board like this was taken back but it didn't go back to the manufacturer it got replaced by the distributor.
