Bootloop after delid ivy

So i was complaining about my cooler a few hours ago, someone convinced me to delid my cpu. Cpu is fine btw, not a scratch and no indentations on the ihs.
However, it seems like some pins on the motherboard are bent. They dont touch eachother tho.
When i turn my pc on, i get a lot of noise from fans and pump, it does that for a few seconds, then it turns itself on and repeats the whole thing.
Specs:
P8z77 idelux
H100i
3570k
Any help ?

yeah ive had that not from deliding tho if your chip has no scratch anywere id say the mobo is deid ive had it happen to a asus maximus 4 gene I fixed a bent pin worked well the next day d o a

What pins? The cpu pins? Yourse doesnt have any... 3570k has pads, these cant bent..?
How did you delid the cpu... maby becouse of bending the pcb the cpu sits on the pads are not in contact with the ones on the mobo...? or... and im not suggesting you are an idiot tho;) but did you put thermal paste between the ihs and cpu?
If none of this is faulty/wrong, things dont look to good, but i still strongly suspect the cpu has some damage tho...

Hopefully you find a sollution!

Cheers

the socket on the mb has pins, those are bent. I delidded it with a good old hammer, but i do think its in perfect shape. Ofcourse i used tim, but now ive ran out because i kept taking everything apart and putting it back together xd new tube of clu is on the way.

bent pins can be hit and miss some times you can bend them back and it works sometimes it wont I don't see much point in rma a mobo with bent pins unless its a new mobo most of the time wen you send it back thay will just say you bent them
and getting the mobo reworked would cost more then buying a new mobo
id try getting an cheap h61 mobo and see if your cpu will post at lest if it works you have a working rig untell you can get a new one or take the cpu to a pc shop see if thay will test it for you

Hammer... I'm no expert on delidding, or the process, but hammer + cpu sounds a LOT like that might be the problem :P

Hammer + Vice method if done correctly poses less risk than the box cutter method...

His problem is bent pins on the motherboard.....

If you cant bend them back then I'd take a chance by sending it for RMA and cross your fingers that the bent pins dont get spotted....

That was a tongue in cheek joke

That's not legal mate, don't advise people to try and deceive companies, if he's bent it, he's bent it.

Since when is sending back a board not legal ?

Companies don't generally ask you if you have bent the pins when requesting RMA.. If the technicians do there job properly then they will see the bent pins and refuse the service... But as most techs cant be assed then I think it is worth a try sending it back.... That is not deceit where I come from...

Oh and who's to say that the pins on his board weren't faulty to start with? Manufacturing flaw could have made the pins extremely weak.. Low possibility but still a chance....

Sending it back under false pretences when you know you've damaged it, accidentally or not.. is illegal.

also pretty much all the online retailers are ACTIVELY checking boards for bent pins, for this VERY reason.

theres nothing illegal about sending a mobo back wen the pins are bent thay may over look the pins if the mobo has a fault not due to bent pins

Firstly this is stupid, if you think its ok to delid your cpu then you should be prepared to bin components.

And if so why not just have a go at straightening the pins? I bent the pins on my friends bulldozer, straightened them with a scalpel in strong light, got them all spot on and its been solid ever since.

well its his cpu if he wants to delid it up to him I know lots of people who have done it and got much better temps so I wouldent call it stupid ive seen up to 12c just by deliding not as silly as it sounds

How would delidding cause bent pins on the socket?
Heatsink putting on uneven pressure or something?

Sorry, I've never bent any and am finding it hard to picture how it could happen.

well I think some people are getting mixed up with amd chips as thay still have pins on the cpu

from whats been said the guy has an old mobo that has one or two bent pins on it and he was trying to work out if its the mobo that's deid or him deliding his cpu

My thinking was, if pins have been bent by simply installing the cpu (nothing to do with the delidding) then that improves the morality of an rma. Probably doesn't change the chance of success though...
