Lol I don't get it? :p

Wahoo, completed a full week of weights last week, my chest is only just better today from training it last Friday lol, everytime I lay down on my chest I had to plank it, arms couldn't open without pain. Did bi's yesterday, back on Monday, today be shoulders!

Recommend standing overhead movements to help built up core stability. Just something I've been playing with the last few months will be doing overhead movements every week once the comp finishes.
You want to increase your numbers, try adding a TRX workout into your routine once or twice a week. The increase in core strength and stability is amazing, plus the smaller stabilizing muscles, especially in the shoulder area get much needed work that they miss out on with normal type movements.

Yesterday was back day and I did 5x5 of 220KG dead lift, Personal best so far :)

B...Beast.

Went 220kg | 110 kg | 220kg at my comp. Missed my 2nd squat attempt so I retook it and got it and I missed my third deadlift attempt at 227.5kg 500 pounds eludes me again. It's that damn lock out power.

Sounds painful, haha.

Aiming for 220|230|240 for both squats and deadlift at nationals and 110|115|120 bench. The 12 week count down starts now.

Dice! That is some serious business!

Got any training vids? What are your maxes and what is your bodyweight?

Anyways, yesterday I had a monster front squat session with some OHP volume work and some prowler work to finish. LOVING the prowler and will be using that to the fullest for conditioning.

Not posted for a while so...

Bench is stuck at 80kgs
Squat is at 115kgs
Deadlift i've managed to up to 120kgs

Benched 3x3 @85kg today. Next week 4x4 @85. 12 weeks to go until nationals! My goal is 1145-125kg for nationals!

Looking at your numbers you are like me; comparatively weak bench.

You'd be surprised how much your bench would go up if you got your overhead press numbers up, I'd almost go as far as to say you could drop bench and focus on press/push press/heavy dips and then go set a new bench PR.

Anyway, that got my raw bench up from 120-125kg to 140kg @ ~94kg (slight pause, not comp pause) and I've always sucked at bench :)

Wish you all the best in the nationals mate!

fucking shite, 3 days ago I did a 6x5 90kg bench, went for a 100kg today and failed half way through the first rep, I was still fresh, I had only finished 3 sets of barbell curls with 45kgs, then warmed up with 6 reps @ 40kg, 3 reps at 70, 3 reps at 90 and then straight to 100......... still pissed :|

Well I'm done with bodybuilding for the next months while I rest an injury to my shoulder.

I have a deltoid injury on my right shoulder. I over did it on the bench press and I had my elbows too far out from my sides when bringing the bar down to my chest.

I tore something or whatever. I can freely use my arm except when I rotate my hand/wrist and then raise my arm in certain positions. It sounds very much like a rotator cuff injury, but the pain is actually a little lower down and deep on my front deltoid. So not sure what it is, except I know it is something wrong with my deltoid.

I don't want to spend thousands on an MRI and I don't want to pay many more thousands for surgery (if that is indeed what is required to fix it). This pain has kept me away from bench press for about two months now, and I can't even do one pushup anymore due to the sharp pain.

I think something is definitely torn, but not sure if it is tendon, ligament or muscle. I'm kind of hoping it is muscle, because a severed tendon won't just naturally grow back together without surgery.

So, it has been about two months now since I injured the shoulder. I've been continueing with deadlifts, squats, curls, and triceps, etc. But since I'm not feeling any improvement in the shoulder (in fact it is feeling worse), I've decided to stay away from bodybuilding all together for the next two months.

You may think that squats would not have any affect on a deltoid, but the arm placement (even though no weight is really on them) is still a killer position for the delt.

So now I can only do cardio and situps. lame. See you all in a few months.

It sounds more like a tendon, or the muscle itself from what you are describing. Was there any bruising after? If it is a tendon, yes it can heal on its own, but doing deadlifts is sure to keep it aggravated and less likely to heal. What you are doing is proper, give it some rest, try to ice it in the evenings as much as you can. Do you have physiotherapists near that you could go to assess it? Much cheaper than Dr. route. I always cringe when I see people benching and their elbows are out wide. They should be tight enough that you feel your tricep pressing into your lats at the bottom of the movement. Hope for a speedy recovery.

Thanks for the reply. No visible bruising ever. But that may be because the muscle pain seems like a really deep buried muscle.

it was definitely caused by bad form... tried cheating to get over 300lb bench. I completed it [304lb] but paid the price. Now I can't even bench an empty 45 lb bar.

Whatever it is, rest is the only thing I can do really. I'll ice it too, but those things are such a nuisance. I've got these blue-ice type packets with velcro straps, but they are difficult to keep in place on the injury and stay cool only for about 30-40 minutes max.

Can a ruptured tendon heal on its own? A damaged or partially torn tendon I know can. But a completely severed tendon such as an Achilles I think requires surgery. But I don't know if same applies to shoulders tendons. That was my reasoning for hoping it is just a partial tearing of muscle rather than a serious tendon injury. Serious tendon injury I think requires surgery.

If the pain continues in a month or two then I'll go to a place like you recommend.

Thanks for the instructions/tips.

I wouldn't wait to go see some sort of physiotherapist if you can. If it is ruptured, or a complete tear, meaning it has detached from the muscle, the sooner you get it dealt with the better. If you leave it, and it is that serious, you are looking at prolonging your recovery even further. Most physiotherapist, good sport ones, will at least be able to assess it and give you further advice as to how to continue. But would you rather have 3 months off or a year? Hope it is nothing really serious, but its not sounding very good from what you are describing.

After 2 years, losing 30 kg of fat, gaining 20kg of muscle, and one hell of a chest and back day that my lats were gonna blow, people are finally noticing that I go to the gym -.-

Great feeling aint it :)

I'm whats called an "easy gainer" and only after the 1st month I noticed dramatic changes and people around me noticed it too and that was in October 2010, I haven't stopped training since ^_^

It all depends on how your body reacts to training and nutrition, Some of my clients have seen changes the first 3-4weeks, Others it's taken far longer, Everyone is different :)

Yesterday I had pretty bad muscle soreness in my legs and had a football game with my friends, woke up today barely being able to walk, all the muscles in my legs, glutes, lower back and traps are destroyed... lets hope for some gainzzz :)

Just remember to get enough protein in you so your body can make all those gains :)
