Board & CPU upgrade? (mATX)

Hello folks!

My greedy side is calling out for an upgrade since there hasn't been any decent mATX boards as of late that's actually peaked my curiosity. So I figured since Z470/X470 is around the corner that I'd prepare beforehand.

I was holding out for Ryzen but since we never got any decent (mATX) boards I kinda had hopes for Coffee Late which ended up being a letdown as well. I know there was the Strix G(ene) but they shuffled the layout (namely the 2nd m.2 slot) compared to Z270 version and that's a big nono for me.

Currently sitting at 4770k delided cooled w/ H100i in a Z97 GENE paired with a 2133mhz 4x4GB kit.

Recently bought a 1080 Strix that was on sale since my old 290 was kinda playing it's last song, and I have 960 EVO 500GB + 1 TB on the way as we speak. I also have a G.Skill Trident Z RGB 4x8GB kit on standby if that matters.

My case is the Arc Mini R2 and I prefer it over anything else at the moment if that has any impact on recommendation. So... Would it be stupid to go for Z270 at this point? Or should I ignore my picky personality and go for the Z370 board instead? Or maybe wait it out in the meantime?

If you are only gaming you won't notice the difference. If your greed prevails Z270 is still better option for gaming only than Coffee Lake. Stupid price, and lack of stock is just rendering it bad purchase at the moment.
