I think you can use NVFlash for the flash..but I'm afraid I don't know of a BIOS that would slow the fan down.

If your gonna void your warranty by changing the BIOS, you may as well put a nice new cooler on it

What you need to do is as follows:

- Create a backup of your BIOS to a file using NVFlash

- Open the file in a program called Nibitor

- Change the default fan speed to something like 50%

- Save the changes to the BIOS

- Flash the modified BIOS back on to your card using NVFlash

Or you could invest in an aftermarket cooler..

why not just use rivatuner and tone tone it down yourself?

Aye...as long as you don't tell em that won't void your warranty either :)

EDIT: it also depends on whether the fan has thermal throttling or not - some 6600's didn't

me and ham wrote a guide on how to create and flash nvidia bios' ill go dig it out now. but as the others said, if youre going to void the warranty just buy an Arctic Cooler or something thats quiet on 100% fan speed

Another cooler will not fit... There is some sort of copper heatsink in the way and it will not clear... Forgot to tell that story... I think the Riva Tuner will work OK...
