Hi guys. I was wondering how mutch graphics memory these games use with a 27" monitor 1920x1080 resolution and @ highest game settings?

Whats the best way to get the memory usage down, and without losing to mutch eye candy?

I played at 1920 x 1080 120MHz for a few hours this morning 50-60 fps with 1220 ram usage on my GTX570

Thanks for checking it.

yup just one screen. I run a 7970 though so it it may be less efficient in vram than other cards

Ok.

I know a guy who is selling hes Asus 7970 reference card with EK acetal (EN) fullcover block for 500£/4500Nkr

Its not a bad prize, since the EK block itself costs me about 125£ inc shiping. Im considering it :-)

Ive used msi afterburner tonight to see how one of my 5870 are doing in BF3 large maps. On medium settings the memory usage is +- 900MB and on high its around +-925MB. Also running both settings fine with healthy fps and it can only be better when i add the second card. Running BF3 on high is enough for me

Ive tested the 5870 on ultra and the memory usage was @ 960MB. Had 30+ fps and it didnt run that smooth, but i guess it will be 60+ in crossfire. Il order some EK blocks for my 5870's

Did a test run with Skyrim. 55avg fps, 900-910 memory usage at ultra settings. I love msi afterburner monitoring/fan control now. Ive only used to monitor the fps with fraps, but its very nice to have control over the temp and memory.

. MSI Afterburner is an awesome piece of software, gotta love the features it provides.

There is very little difference between ultra and high anyway so I'd rather have more fps then sacrifice it for a bit more eye candy, which may not make that much of a difference anyway.

Yeah i think so too. Im glad i dont run eyefinity, then i definelty would need more vram

Yep. Eyefinity is not really worth it given the lack of games supported and the hassle you have to go through to get some games working on three monitors.

I actually have started to like those set ups with 3 screens. Some of the newest monitors have a very tiny frame around it, so now it will look even better with eyef. I havent heard anyone having problems with it, but then again, i havent been the biggest fan of it so that information ive skipped reading :-)
