Best fittings

I've been looking around for fittings for my new build, and im torn between compression or just barbs and then some kind of clips. The only thing is i find the clips to be rather ugly, and generally a pain to remove. Has anyone had any experience with compression fittings as in the past i've only ever used barbs. I'll be using 1/2" ID tubing and preferably 3\4" OD, i prefer the chunky look.

On a side note the bitspower fittings all look the best by far, but they are expensive. Are they worth the extra cost

*thanks tom

BitFenix dont make watercooling kit you mean Bitspower. And Ill use BP where ever possible in my builds tbh.

I normally use 1/2 barbs with 7/16 hose and no clips.....

That config if you take precautions when leak testing ect then yeah its fine matey. Ive posted rigs abroad like that...

Cool ima try it, wish me luck. It looks so much cleaner that using those fugly clips.

Oh and on a side note tom, you come from a rig modding and building background. That new xigmatech elysium or the 800D for a single GPU and CPU loop, which looks better in the flesh and would be the easiest to work with. Your opinion would help no end

1/2ID x 3/4OD is the ideal Tubing length and most people have opted to go for 1/2ID tubing.

Barbs are the normal/ least expensive route to take. With barbs you also have to add clips to fasten the tubing on the connection in case it may get loose. The cheaper alternative is to use 7/6 tubing with 1/2 barbs which means you no longer have to use clips (but if you still want to you can).

Compression fittings are luxury and premium fittings that make your Rig stand out. If you are thinking of going the water cool route then there is no harm in spending that little extra for some bling bling. With these connectors there is no need for clips and some also rotate for more tubing flexibility. They are generally more secure also since they are screwed in place using a standard 1/4" thread.

Bitspower are the ideal choice when it comes compression fittings. They make premium fittings that look the business.

I've gone the 1/2 barbs with 7/16 hose and no clips route several times and not experienced any leaks what so ever.

As Tom said though, care needs to be taken.

I went with the BitsPower 3/8" ID 1/2" OD compression fittings, mostly because they look really good, but they are expensive. really expensive. had to limit myself on them. I did use some barbs on a couple of places in my build, but i used some nice clamps from Koolance for them. Safety first.
