best case for myself?

hello my esteemed colleagues

i currently have an Antec AMG 1000 case, and its getting a tad......cramped, and theres no room at all for extra HDDs (ive used its 3 slots) - note that this case wasn't designed with SLI or new grfx cards in mind.

now, i think i have one of 2 choices (feel free to recommend ne more to me)

one of them would be the Thermaltake VA8003BWS Armour Super Tower

and the other would be the Lian Li PC-75BK Black Aluminum Full Tower or PC-V2000

http://www.specialtech.co.uk/spshop/customer/product.php?productid=2434&cat=354&page=1

http://www.lian-li.com/Product/Chassis/Server_Full_Tower/V_Series/S_V_S_PC-V2000.htm

now, the lian li is substantially more expensive, so would i get something that is better for my money? and why?

what i need atm is:

room for my grfx card (its a BFG 7950GT) as atm my grfx card is jam packed opposite my HDD (literally, theres almost no room between them (maybe 0.25cm)).

i need extra room for future HDDs (atm i have 3, but im thinking of upgrading to maybe 4/5).

room for decent airflow (again see above with jam packed issue - it isn't helping the degrees in my case)

and room so i can do some nice cable tidying.

plus room for a future watercooling setup

The Lian-Li has by far the most space for water cooling out of any case available imo. Fragtek managed to fit a tripple radiator and dual pump water cooled SLI setup in his without too many problems.

As for the difference in price, it simply comes down to "you get what you pay for". Lian-Li cases offer unmatched quality hence their high price.

what would you recommend for a simpleton like myself?

i quite like my case, i have simple "mods" installed, but otherwise all i really have is a case window, UV lights and stuff like that really. nothing special.

I like the V2000 but that is mostly personal preference.

Edit: I would get the V2000 for the added space, and extra harddrive mounting places

PC-75BK FTW!

I know someone who has one, and loves it!

Costs a small fortune, but it looks like a fine case!

Lian-Li:

Pros:

Unmatched quality, large.

Cons:

Costs a lot, not that aesthetically appealing.

Thermaltake:

Pros:

Cheaper, large, better looking.

Cons: Not as high build quality.

So it's down to what you want. If you want looks with good space ok quality and a cheaper price then you should go with the TT. If you like quality over price and looks then get the Lian-Li.

Goodluck!

Edit: If your going Lian-Li, I suggest the 75

I prefer the look of the Lian Li's so I wouldn't say that one looks better than another, as that is all personall preference.

Yea good, point Nagaru. Please tak those with persoal preference cyber. Actually, I like the looks of the 75 the ebst, so IMO 75 FTW!

CM 830 stacker will do it too :)

I've had and handled quite a few cases in my time and Lian Li top the list for quality every time. I love the understated looks as well - at least it doesn't look like you have a case that's put down as a "gamers case" *yuk*

Lian Li ftw - loads of space, great build quality and sexy sexy finish.

So why aint urs inside...eh..eh..eh
So the airflow ain't restricted by both the case door and the dust filters immediately behind the door. Where the rad sits now, it's completely unrestricted...makes sense to me! Plus, I also made a silly mistake of putting a bleed valve on the top of my rad. Otherwise, it would have fit in there no worries at all

TS needs to look at where these 4/5 drives may be situated in the case. They will create a nice amount of heat collectively.

If I`m spending ~£175 on a case, it`s gonna do everything I want with no compremize.

btw. the therma one I have here is outrageously heavy, without anything in it.

yea my antec AMG 1000 is about 10kg case only (then again, its steel......as my little toe found out.....damn doctors cudn't do nething as it was such a small bone :@)

I've got the PC71b and it's awesome...but the newer models do looks nice though. Don't like the wiring in upside-down cases though.

The Silverstone looks nice, but I still prefer Lian Li.

Specialtech of course.

10% off, and if they dont have what you want post in there section of te forum and they will try and get it for you:) .
