I know there's another post on this topic literally below mine

But I want a definitive answer:

Which are the best 120mm fan for my new WC radiators?

Some say its the Noctua NF-F12, others say the Scythe Gentle Typhoons, but which one?

I'd like a fans with a red led for mounting on the outside of the push/pull radiators (to shine through case) but it doesn't matter whats on the inside.

What about the SilverStone air penetrator? and maybe these, they look really cool... literally

Final question - do problems arise when using different fans on the same radiator... I.e. increased air turbulence from conflicting fan designs? Should I just find one I like then buy all those?

Man[sup]e[/sup] thanks

can you put a link in showing the rads you have got, please

or the fpi of the rads

oh, and what case are they going in

The extra grill on the air penetrators apparently makes them worse for RAD fans.

If you're getting fewer fans spend the extra cash and get some Noctua FF12s, if you're getting many fans Scythe GT 1850s won't hurt your wallet as much.

For fans with LEDs don't get Coolermaster Sickleflows, they don't perform to the given specs.

Bitfenix Spectres might be OK? Best to wait for somebody else to give a better idea/confirm what I've said.

I think you only run into problems with mismatching fans if they are vastly different in how much air they push.

Either try to get similar specced fans if they're going to be different brands or if you're willing you could invest in a fan controller.

That way you can speed up/slow down the fans if the mismatching speeds/airflow causes problems.

Don't quote me on that though, I've had no experience with said problems, I'd wait for 1/2 other members to confirm what I've said.

i think you might be ok with the enermax fans but if it was me i would go with a fan that had a static pressure of 2.0 or higher just to make sure as for mixing your fans you can i.e (noctua nf f12pwm in push and nf p12 in pull) but it always best to have all for fans matching, hope this is of some help to you

I'm using 10 Gentle Typhoons 1850 on both rads, 6 on 360mm and 4 on 240mm, and I have to say that they are really good fans. Noctua NF-F12 are good as well but I could not use them for my current build because of the color , and I think that nocuta should have some other colors available because I'm sure that they loosing a lot of customers just because of the color. I understand that they are unique because if you see a brown fans in any case straight away you say "Noctua", thay should make some black and white and even if they will cost 20£ each I will buy them.

So if you dont mind a color and price you can go for noctua fans cuz they are a bit more quiet than GT1850. But from my experience I will RECOMMEND the GT1850.

Thanks guys, I think I'm going to go with Noctua NF-F12 fans all round - the colour sceme doesn't really affect me that much and I love their performace (not their price!)...

stick to matching fans for less issues secondly why 3 rads that 120mm rad will do nothing for you in the long run but tackey up your case with extra tubing. plus there are alot better rads than the BIE around check deeper into rads is my recommendation. 25mm thick rads

what are you planning on cooling???

to the above poster sickle flows are decent fans and do perform at rated specs. You might of gotten a bad one or i got excellent ones i have had 8 of them and all worked perfectly. Only issue i came across was when under volting them with a controller the leds some dimmed some turned off completely outside of that splendid fans Spectere Pros are very good fans and push alot of air no doubt but can be a little noisy at 12v

S_I_N, what radiators would you recommend? Yeah, I was thinking that I could replace the single 120mm rad with a much thicker front rad with push/pull... Would this be more efficient for watercooling? This is my first wc build! Planning on cooling CPU (most likely something IVB) and a single GPU (probs a evga 680 hydro copper)... I know there's a width limitation in the roof, but how thick can the front one be?
