Bent EK Titan X Water Block

I got this EKWB FC-Titan X water block second hand for use with my GTX 1080 Ti, however I was having issues with the card only giving me a black screen, and in the device manager I would get the yellow triangle icon with an error code 43. Nothing I did would spring the card to life, so I took the block off it again and noticed something odd...

When the water block was installed, the PCI-e connector on the graphics card was slightly bent, so no wonder it's not working as the pins won't connect properly in the PCI-e port. I then took the block off the card and inspected it, and noticed both the copper block and acetal top was bent.

What in the world could do this? Should I even hope for some warranty on this, if one could claim it's a factory fault.

Copper is very heavy and quite soft, acetal very soft and malleable. If it were dropped it could quite easily bend.

Take it up with the seller as it's second hand.

Never dropped it. Been sitting on a shelf in the summer heat, that's all I can say. Except it really killed my gfx card. My own fault I guess. Should have inspected the block in more detail before installing it. Well at least I have an insurance to cover dead electronics.

Dude I have seen this happen a few times on OCUK. People getting blocks that have killed their GPU. It may have been dropped before you got it...

I know that black absorbs more heat than any other colour and like I said, acetal is very soft as I have two blocks made of it. I doubt Acetal would have the strength to warp copper, though. I reckon it was bent when you got it.
