BenQ XL2410TX 3D FAIL?

I just got my GTX 680 installed!!! I am having troubles with DVI to VGA (via an adapter) for my second monitor (I use it when I code and such - not game).

I'm also having troubles with it working in 3D! I just tried to run the Nvidia 3D setup wizard via the Nvidia Control Panel, and when I was asked to look at the image on the screen and display what I saw in the left eye, and what I saw in the left, the whole setup failed to work.

I have the little green LED on the bottom right of the monitor telling me that it is emitting the 3D, but the setup fails! Grrr!

Has anyone set this monitor up for 3D on a PC environment?

I disabled the other monitor, which was running through the single dvi port with a dvi to avg (which hasn't worked yet - need to get a new converter, I think).

The problem resides with the setting up of the 3D through Nvidia's control panel. Their setup wizard.

I haven't installed a 3D game yet. I will later today, but I don't think I'll be able to use 3D; every time I click the "enable 3D" button on the control panel, the wizard pops up and then fails to finish.

I heard there were problems with this IR emitter and I am worried I may have to RMA this monitor.

I had the same problem, clean install of monitor and nvidia drivers, bam. Works perfectly. Make sure you are running in 120Hz mode

You mean it worked fine on the second monitor they sent you, or did you uninstall the drivers for the monitor and video card, and then successfully installed them and got it working on the original monitor.

I bought this monitor for the 120hz more than I did for the 3D, but I still want it to work none the less.

No, on the same monitor, I didn't RMA. Me too, the 120Hz makes a HUGE difference, but I ended up getting Nvidia 3D-Vision 2 anyway

Can you please give me a 1 2 3 step as to how you got it working? I've been trying for the last week! Which should I install first, and what not? The monitor Drivers? The graphics Drivers? Do I need to change the Emitter Type (in the monitor menu) when doing the test?

I would LOVE to not have to RMA this - I would be out of a monitor for at least a week and a half, and I just started getting deep into Crysis (great game, even for 5 years old!).

Thanks!

I can't remember exactly as it was a good year ago, but I downloaded the latest nvidia drivers first. Then I installed them, selecting the option for a clean install. Then I removed the Monitor drivers, ran Ccleaner to properley remove them, then reinstalled them. You will have to re-do all the nvidia settings like 3d profiles and such but if it gfets the 3d working, then hey

You will also need to change it back to 120Hz mode. It shouldn't matter what order you do it in, but if it still doesn't work you may have a faulty monitor

Do you know if it matters what DVI port is used? I know it would have to be Dual-link DVI, but does it work on both DVI-I and DVI-D?

I'm pretty sure it has to be dvi-d, but don't quote me on that one, it's what i've got mine plugged into anyway

Ahh, that was it thanks Deano, The monitor is kind of 'plug and play' through the digital dvi dual link, Unplug it, and reboot with your other monitor plugged in to the analogue port, then uninstall the monitor drivers, reboot, shutdown, then connect the benq monitor only through the dvi-d link and boot.

I would then do a fresh driver install, then try the 3d wizard. Sometimes I also found it crashed if run from the control panel, try running it from your start menu programmes

You mean that you bought the stand along emitter/receiver/glasses, even though you have the XL2410TX?

I uninstalled everything last night, ran CCleaner, and rebooted the system. I didn't unplug the monitors, but the BenQ wasn't recognized until I re-installed the Nvidia drivers. Then I installed the BenQ drivers and tested the 3D - No Dice.

I am using the DVI-D output from the video card for the dual link cable that attaches to the benq. I then have a DVI-I to VGA adapter that I am using to power a second monitor that I use for coding and stuff when I am working. The DVI-I is the only one (at least for the dual links) that can convert to VGA. This is due to the "Interlaced" aspect of it and the fact that it actually transmit both digital and analog via the four pins around the straight one.

The DVI-D is digital only, and only has the flat bar with no pins around it. I don't see why 3D vision would need any analog signal; the cable that came with the BenQ is DIV-I. Either way, I will remove all that and try the process one more time before RMA'ing.

Oh and no, I just have the standard one, my apologies I did not register the 'x'. It should be exactly the same though, It i the exact same monitor just with the emitter built in.
