Benchmarks of GPUs with & without Lucid Virtu MVP enabled

I would love to see a review/benchmark with middle and top range GPUs with and without Lucid Virtu MVP enabled.

I have no idea which games support Lucid Virtu MVP but there must be some.

It would be great if there was a mix of SB and IB CPUs and Z68 and Z77 boards.

I am very interested in seeing what advantages it might bring and if there are any improvments from SB/Z68 to IB/Z77 platforms.

I currently have a GTX570 and am quite happy with it. If I could take it with me to my new IB/Z77 build and get a graphics boost I'd be chuffed! That would save me a tidy sum.

So, I live in the hope that you guys at OC3D are feverishly churning out benchmarks as I type...or there soon after.

Keep up the good work guys!

Ps.I have noticed in a few reviews I've read about the new Z77 boards, that the reviewers are quite dismissive of Lucid Virtu MVP and or the use of onboard video ports, why is this?

Well it's a little hit and miss with lucid from the reviews I've read but there will be user views coming out.

I know the Sieb was planning on playing around with it until his mobo went tits.

I'll be doing some as well including a 7950 xf lucid test when I get around building my new rig (probs still a month away).

In the meantime I'm sure there will be more user reviews coming out across the web.

well i just ordered my build, GTX680 RIVE & 3930k, i can test lucid virtu benchmarks on some stuff. meanwhile, initial reviews noticed a decline in performance. Anandtech review. I don't know how it has improved through X79 and MVP RC1.1, but again, its for Science.

Lucid MVP is a step up from Lucid vertu, it's only on z77 boards though. It's not really worth it if you have a highend card but for use with a low to mid range card it's definetly worth it.

I will be testing it on my z77 GD65 if I can get it working next week, need to try some different rams in it.

Here is one review RawZ posted on Aria a while ago.

i got a z77 and ib, but my mobo won't do lucid virtu mvp. actually, i'm glad i'm not paying the premium - slower cards/older games tend to see improvements, while demanding games/powerhouse graphics cards are "bottlenecked" by the igpu much in the same way that a really slow physx card might hold back a powerful nvidia card. i think it makes sense ^^

It's still early days for MVP as well, it will improve overtime.

It's not really aimed at people with highend cards though as there isn't much point to it if you can already run games maxed. It is mainly aimed for use with low to mid range cards and giving you the performance close to a high end card.

Give it a few months and a few updates down the road and we will see it get better.

I thought all z77 motherboards do MVP, have you set it up in the BIOS?

Also paying what premium, it's free?

maybe he is saying hes board is cheaper as it may not have lucidmvp, so he is happy he hasnt bought a board that has as lucidmvp must add some cost to boards if it is as good as they say it is.

nothing is free! there a price for everything you get

I did think it might be his motherboard but he said he is glad he isn't "paying the premium" not glad he didn't "pay a premium" so it sounds more like he meant paying for a service or something like that.

Hey guys, I have a HD 5770 at the moment, I do plan to upgrade In the future but for now im putting my money into a new mobo, there is a gigabyte one that has lucid mvp support, would it be worth going for that one as I only have a 5770? Cheers
