Someone show me how to unpark CPU cores? Although at my fps it's not really needed but hey, the more the merrier!
But DICE need to release a patch asap, or they can kiss my ass goodbye when they release BF5.
no worry's mate just glad to share the info, just remember when you do it to shut down an reboot. then you can game like normal again
It's easy to say you gained 20fps without actually showing a comparison. I'm not saying you're lying or anything, but I find it comparatively hard to believe that you'd get a boost of that magnitude from a simple registry edit. I mean, if it was that significant, then shit, it'd be all over the internet, which it isn't.
Nonetheless, CPU parking would be more noticeable on a laptop rather than desktop...
Anyhoo...
Edit: Quote taken from external forum - "Does nothing for newer CPU's .. Unparking only worked on some of the older Duals and quads.. Just disable the power saving modes in the bios."
In essence you'll probably find more performance in overclocking your VRam since BF4 has an updated texture pipeline built in. But yeah, whatever.
As far as my performance goes, I'm not seeing any stuttering or lag on an overclocked i7 3770k 4.6Ghz + overclocked GTX 680 1306Mhz. Running 60+/- fps on Ultra.
I'm going to download the tool now, so I'll let you know if it benefits me.
I did notice a stutter in-game the other day, it's not quite lag (and wouldn't be at 60+fps) but just a slight jitter...I think this might help. I'll let you know!
Edit: Okay so first two cores were parked, so I've just unparked them, I'll restart the rig now and let you know later on after a session on BF4 how I get on!
Edit: Okay so restarted and checked that they were still unparked which they were but it didn't give me any more fps in BF4. Worth a try though!
I've been owning it upsup with you guys! c'mon!
