Battlefield 4 Experience

Someone show me how to unpark CPU cores? Although at my fps it's not really needed but hey, the more the merrier!

But DICE need to release a patch asap, or they can kiss my ass goodbye when they release BF5.

no worry's mate just glad to share the info, just remember when you do it to shut down an reboot. then you can game like normal again

It's easy to say you gained 20fps without actually showing a comparison. I'm not saying you're lying or anything, but I find it comparatively hard to believe that you'd get a boost of that magnitude from a simple registry edit. I mean, if it was that significant, then shit, it'd be all over the internet, which it isn't.
Nonetheless, CPU parking would be more noticeable on a laptop rather than desktop...

Anyhoo...

Edit: Quote taken from external forum - "Does nothing for newer CPU's .. Unparking only worked on some of the older Duals and quads.. Just disable the power saving modes in the bios."

In essence you'll probably find more performance in overclocking your VRam since BF4 has an updated texture pipeline built in. But yeah, whatever.

As far as my performance goes, I'm not seeing any stuttering or lag on an overclocked i7 3770k 4.6Ghz + overclocked GTX 680 1306Mhz. Running 60+/- fps on Ultra.

take it or leave it mate, just telling people what i did an the performance boost i got. an i wasn't the only one, 8 of my mate who were playing with me got the same. no i don't have proof as i wasn't recording but i did check twice (doing an undoing what i did an seen a tangible benefit from it, an the guy whos video i put up has a 4770k an he did to. so like i said do it or don't i couldn't give a rats, got nothing to gain from telling you about it, bar an opponent with a decent frame rate

I'm going to download the tool now, so I'll let you know if it benefits me.

I did notice a stutter in-game the other day, it's not quite lag (and wouldn't be at 60+fps) but just a slight jitter...I think this might help. I'll let you know!

Edit: Okay so first two cores were parked, so I've just unparked them, I'll restart the rig now and let you know later on after a session on BF4 how I get on!

Edit: Okay so restarted and checked that they were still unparked which they were but it didn't give me any more fps in BF4. Worth a try though!

Just about got used to it now. was 3rd but a game crash meant I lost 20skill since at the time my k/d was poop. :(

Just as in bf3, the skill 'statistic' is just one of those arbitrary number things that doesn't really mean an awful lot, you can go 20 - 0 and get -3 skill. I see they haven't improved it much since 3

This launch was worse than Total War Rome 2.. which says a lot!

Constantly crashing out due to server crashes. Really annoying along with a lot of server lag even though my internet is more than enough for this game.

SuB to the skill value: It's "Security Through Obscurity" nobody knows what Skill does and thus nobody cares about the value at all... Even if its the biggest value on the soldier screen: nobody looks at it because as you said, its arbitrary, or with an algorithm unknown to the user.

Today I made a test run on my new hardware (green stuff in the signature) and on ultra it ran at around 80fps on OP Locker (I disabled HBAO, made post processing on low and turned anti aliasing post off)

ran like a charm, but when I set the settings to low, it ran at 120-140fps, but every minute or so, the game would get a HUGE performance drop (to around 2fps). This might be because I'm using VERY old RAM (Some Corsair Dominators with initially 1600MHz, but I had to set them to 1333 because my mainboard wouldn't support them otherwise for some reason) and there's only 4GB of this RAM total so... I suspect this this might be the cause.

Had another go on it last night, got shit on again! I went support for the first time which was pretty cool, I can't remember the name but the shotgun type grenade launcher he has as he secondary...shot down a chopper trying to land at the petrol station on floodzone...then for the first time the game crashed!

As far as I know only logical cores can be parked. Since you have a 4670k in your sig with no HyperThreading, there should be no effrct.

I really don't know about this core parking thing. I don't really wanta say it's not true, but until I see a waterproof benchmark on this, I'm not convinced.
In theory the programm/game should be able to unpark the cores itself especially if it has proper multi core support.
If that's not happening either the OS or the game/programm have been written sloppy or there is something else messed up.

Made no affect to me at all, there seemed to be no stuttering though. But maybe it's like a one off type bug?

Certainly no fps gains on my end though.

ShaunB yeah, that thing the XM-25 Airburst grenade launcher. thing's pretty powerful: You can use it to lock onto a distance (maybe a wall with enemies behind it) and when you shoot in the air, where the edge is, the grenade will pass the edge and then explode midair in the faces of the enemies ;)

It was pretty sweet! First time I'd took a chopper out to so to do it unexpectedly was like :| WOOOO!

The game is driving me nuts though, I'm just not killing anyone.
