Battlefield 2 Online

hey lads, baught BF2 today, got home, installed it and made up a single player account.

Later on i decided to try it online so started creating an account, and clicked "create acount" and it came up with it sayin "creating account" but thas as far as it goes, and if i click it just goes back to the start of the account.

Has this happend to anyone else, or do you no what i need to do to sort this.

Dint check tbh, but nortan hasnt came up with a pop up asking if i should, how can i manually allow it?

I dont know I dont use Norton.

Try disabling norton and try it.

Did you enter your details and then click create account ?

1. Go into the personal firewall option

2. Click 'configure'

3. Then select 'programs' tab

4. Check list of programs

5. If BF2 exists set to 'Permit all'

6. If it isn't in list add it and set to 'Permit all'....

7. CLICK OK

ok new problem lol..............Ive created an account, without changing the firewall stuff, but now when i try to connect to a server, it pops up with, connecting to server, then just refreshes the servers page lol.

Any ideas on this one

And btw in my nortan options, i cant seem to find the firewall part

That I think can be due to the server having a different mod than you like special forces for example.

Norton isnt a Firewall is it, its an anti virus unless it has a firewall module built in

You are probably using windows standard firewall.

To have a look go to start, control panel and click on windows firewall.

ye my windows firewall is disabled. And for the servers, i have the box for the correct game crossed, so that shouldnt be a problem. ummmmm

Ditto, I've had the exact same problem when I didn't have the most recent patch.

I downloaded a patch but it said i needed 1.3, but wheneva i i dont seem to be able to find it .

You must have downloaded the incremental 1.4 patch (patches 1.3 to 1.4).

What you need is the complete 1.4 patch (patches new install to 1.4).

Get it here...

Install that and it should fix your problems

Ok an update.....Ive downloaded a patch and it seems to be responding better now, so thanks for the link.

When i click to connect now it sats to check network connections. is that something i can do ingame or another way?

umm. well ive got nortan but theres no firewall optiions, ive also tried the game with nortan turned off, and my windows firewall is off
