Right after a time out and rethink following the H100i fiasco and my decision to go for a full CPU/GPU watercooled loop...

I've done a wee bit of shopping


First up some more hardware -


One Adata XPG Gaming v1.0 8GB (2x4Gb) DDR3 PC3-16000C9 2000MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit

One Creative Sound Blaster Z OEM Sound Card

And now some of the watercooling components -

There was never any doubt as to my preference as regards the CPU block and despite my initial reservations as to the CSQ series redesign...


1 x EK Supreme LTX CSQ CPU Copper Acetal Waterblock

I've decided not to go for a full cover waterblock for the GPU on this occasion, I've thought ahead to the long term and upgradability of the GPU; for this reason the ideal choice was the EK VGA Supremacy CSQ Copper Acetal.

Choice of fittings -


EK CSQ 14 45 Degree Rotary Elbow Fittings Silver

EK EN PSC 14 Compression Fittings Nickel Silver

And lastly some of these -

Well the rads arrived this morning



First up an Alphacool NexXxoS ST30 240mm Full Copper

As the name suggests the ST30 is 30mm deep, this will be mounted in the roof.



Next up is it’s biggest brother an Alphacool NexXxoS Monsta 240mm Full Copper

A staggering 80mm deep :blink: This will be vertically mounted at the front of the case.



Here’s a comparison shot to show the sheer size of the Monsta against the ST30 :lol:

Looks like a good bit of kit you got picked out for the now full water loop x-). Still a shame that you had that experience with Corsair, their product line has typically been very good with me :-/. Either way, moving on as it were. For the video card what will you be using for cooling the rest of the bits (mosfets, memory)?

Right time to do some work on the GPU...


For the build I'm using an EVGA GeForce GTX 660 Ti SC+ 3GB.

Great card and overclocks like the Devil's own IF you can stop the thermal throttling.

First order of business is to strip it down

Clean it up and prep it

And now Phase one of it's transformation (please note phase one )

One EVGA GeForce GTX 660 Ti SC+ 3GB with mounted EK VGA Supremacy CSQ Copper Acetal and added Koolance RAM Heatsinks.

Right this morning saw me remove the motherboard to install the CPU water block.

Presenting one installed EK Supreme LTX CSQ CPU Copper Acetal Waterblock...

I've used black M4 nylon dome nuts to allow me to visually gauge how much spring tension I've applied at each thread and to stop anything snagging on them as the build progresses.

I might actually leave them there as I think they look aesthetically pleasing

That's the rear extract 140mm Xilence CF2 mounted

I've used anti vibration mounts to eliminate noise as much as possible

Installed the Power Supply Unit

I'm using a Seasonic X-Series 650W Full Modular Power Supply

And pre installed the dual 8-Pin EPS12V Extensions

Plus the 24-Pin ATX Extension

Ok that fateful day has arrived...


Has all my measuring up and research paid off???


A busy morning so without further adieu


One prepped Alphacool NexXxoS ST30 240mm Full Copper with mounted twin 120mm Xilence CF2's and EK EN PSC 14 Compression Fittings.

And here's my baby all prepped again with twin 120mm Xilence CF2's, E22 120mm FG1 Fan Grills and EK EN PSC 14 Compression Fittings.
