Well...after 6 months of trying, 2 phase units, 3 cold-bugged CPUs...I finally hit it. I know that most of you left 3GHz behind a LONG time ago but even though I passed it, I got some weirdness that I could really use your advice with.
The CPU scaled fine up to around 322x9. After that point, it started hanging soon after dropping into the desktop. I randomly changed my bootup to include F@H and things suddenly became fine. I had to keep my CPU loaded to stop the computer hanging. This was with watercooling, and temperatures of..above 20 anyway.
Things slowly progressed, but benching became a problem. If I closed F@H to run a bench, the computer would hang by the time I got my mouse to the "go" button for the bench. I`ve had to run SPi and CPC with F@H running in the background, which has had a hit on my scores. Even turning down the CPU allocation for F@H will hang the computer. I turned off one of my rad fans and upped the VCore (which was prob. needed) to get my temps up.
Symptoms of coldbug...but at +25-30 degrees- maybe higher my Speedfan reading bounces between 22 and 38 degrees under load. The IHS is next to go probably, but does anyone have any ideas?
2835MHz was fine loaded at around 20degrees...very strange.
