Hi All,

Just picked up a MEG Creation X299 board, gonna throw on a delidded 7980xe and it will run alongside a 2080ti aorous extreme.

Will also be using 4 nvme's, 3ssd's & 1x5TB mechanical

Would like to run the CPU @4.5 , its got a caseking stamp on the IHS and has been validated for 4.5 @1.2v.

Will the AX760i be able to handle all this or will I be right on the limit ? If not what do you think a safe overclock will be untill I manage to upgrade to a new PSU at the end of this month ?

Almost forgot, the case will also have 12 fans.

From what I could see from a power supply calculator that system needs a 1000 watt power supply so I wouldn't overclock at all till you get the new one

Thanks, was thinking pretty much the same. There is a SeaSonic Prime Gold 1300W on local ads here for 150e. Might pick it up tonight but only has 2 cpu 8 pins where motherboard has 3 x CPU 8 pin, not sure if this matters ?

Not sure about that one buddy hopefully someone else on here can answer that one for you but a Seasonic 1300 is bound to be a great PSU otherwise

You should not need 3 8pin cpu power at all with that, unless you were like heavily overclocking an 18 core on LN2, the Evga x299 Dark is one of the best boards for LN2 overclocking and it only has 2 8 pins so yeah, no need to worry if you just doing some ambient cooling overclocks.

Yeah 760 not enough.

EVGA do good high powered PSUs that are usually cheaper than the rest. That said it doesn't sound like you're pinching pennies hehe.

Thanks, picking up the 1300w silverstone alter tonight.

A little preview :

Very nice. Keep us updated man.

Just when I felt like never building another pc again I'm doing another one lmao.

Well, soon at least. I've got all of the parts :)

Just spotted something, look at the fittings on the photo below , both of them will never in a million years fit on the EK Block !! Any ideas how to get around this ? Both blocks are G1/4 threads :

Yes. Most have a gnurled part just like that that allows you to tilt them apart to put in big fat fittings. 19mm Monsoon chainguns are the largest fittings I've used and that was the only way I could get two into my CPU block.

Picked up the silverstone 1300w last night, it only came with one cpu 8 pin owner had mislaid the 2nd one.

Gonna need at least two I reckon on the MEG X299 if i'm gonna push it 4.5.

Anybody know if the wiring on the Corsair AX series 8 pin cpu plug is the same as the silverstone ?
If not, shouldn't be that hard to rewire and swap over the plug as CPU 8 pins are 4 ground and 4 12v (correct me if i'm wrong).

Concerning the new EK block I ordered to 90 degree rotation fittings from Amazon, same as I have on my GPU, I hope that they will on EK !

A little update, took out the 9900k & Maximus X Hero and popped in the X299 Meg Creation with the 7980XE, The 90 degree fittings did the trick for due to the tight spacing between inlet/outlet on the velocity. For power the Akasa PCIE to 12v EPS worked perfectly. Only issue I have now that I have is that I think I may have nuged the IHS a bit, I have two really hot cores and have had to pull the overclock back to 4.2ghz, meeting up with a mate next weekend to redelid the cpu and apply a fresh coat of liquid metal.

On a side note, I have 128gb 2666mhz (no xmp) of Micron E-Die, got it for 100euros and it does 3200@CL19 1.35v without any hiccups, really happy about that (even if it does look a bit ugly).

Settled in with this overclock at the moment 4.3ghz at 1.03v low 80s on two cores, cant wait to redelid it :) this chips a is defo needing not to many volts...

Impressive score. That's about double the 14 core I have :) Then again it is running nearly twice as fast on all cores.
