With the pc now in the living room it makes sense to plug it up to the TV.

i have a DVI to HDMI cable running between the two.

in the lovely box of bits that came with my XFX cards was an internal audio cable.

the cards do have an audio in by the 6 and 8 pin power ports.

do i simply run it to an internal out of my sound card?

Hopefully i can watch Bluray on my main tv with audio soon :-)

In theory, yeah.

I've had varying results from it tho. Best I had was on Vista 32bit. All hell broke loose when I used 64bit.

Bugger !!

I run Vista premium 64 bit and Ultimate 64 bit

Dam you M$ :ar:

I'll give it a go and see what the results are.

Also guys whenever i pop a blu ray in and play it my colour profile is automatically changed and the red has been pumped off the scale. Cant remember what the prog i use is, came bundled with the Bluray drive. Dam annoying !!

Also it displayed through a Sony Bravia

If you have an HDMI to DVI cable you will not get sound. DVI does not carry sound

Has the card got an Optical out?

See I've heard that b4 and read some specs that say that's correct.

On the Vista 32 bit build I had I went dvi to hdmi to the samsung 32" and it worked.

Can't explain it myself.

What I'm thinking they mean is u can't use DVI->DVI and get sound. Cos thinking again, it'd have to work cos my 280 has 2x dvi sockets and a hmdi sound input. The DVI arrangement does have a batch of pins in the center geared for "digital data" that is not for screen purposes.

Sound works through hdmi to dvi via a Ati card but this is only due to the card having an audio decoder built in, have my 4870 via hdmi into my philips tv.

sorry for the late reply, just got back from Germany.

yes the card / s do have optical ins but i have not had a chance to pop the case open and play with some cables.
