And that, my amigo, would be why

yeah it was a pretty sick psu, ppl look at wattage far 2 much i even think the 850 i have in mines is maybe a bit of overkill as its not even warm to the touch so its not really working all that hard

There's two boards an ASUS and Gigabyte for around £60 with series 8 chipset which i'm considering. Things is that saphire 790gx board is a £70 board and is crossfire ready...I could get that for about 30 I think

I can't even find the CPU support list on their site. You did check it supports the 965 I assume? Because you do realise they won't even work with a CPU that hasn't been added to the bios.

Found that out the hard way myself a couple of months back.

Hey, I suppose if it works you're OK but if not you got a lemon. I hate buying second hand mobos and usually won't. I got my Asus M3A32 deluxe WIFI for £73 from DABS with a 90 day warranty.

Yeh it will support the 965 CPU, it's only their version of the board released by AMD afterall. So there is no reason it wouldn't have. I've been on Sapphire website most of this evening rechecking etc I can't really see the issue with this board really it seems a bargain to me at £40 quid to just tide me over till the next upgrade.

The problem with sites like this is that the testing is only done on components that are awesome and expensive. That leaves people like me having to research on other decent review sites for info on parts that they/I can afford at any given time.

As the label say though it is overclocking so, overclocking is not cheap. Tom's youtube vids and this site have given me a great reference point though on what to buy if I did have a decent wedge in my pocket. It's just at the moment I don't.

That board was supposed to be awesome and was expensive. Sadly it wasn't very good mate. Honestly, sad fact of life I'm afraid. Recently a MSI fuzion board for AM3 was reviewed and costs less than £100 or something mad, stunning board.

Sapphire boards are just notoriously crappy. I got a 770 pure recently and the VRM sinks fell off when I picked it up and the back of it was covered in flux liquid. Poor poor quality and again, wasn't a cheap board new.

Sapphire are good at many things. Making motherboards is not one of them.

However, £40 is a good buy so long as it works. There are plenty of cheaper products reviewed here however Tom doesn't get to pick and choose what he is given. He doesn't go out and buy things to review he just gets what he is given from the companies who play ball here with us (Asus, Gigabyte, Zotac ETC, recently EVGA) and rolls with it. And they usually send Tom high end gear because he knows what he is doing with it.

Sapphire haven't sent us anything from what I can tell.
