Asus VN247H with Gigabyte GTX670

I'm using an Asus VN247H 24" monitor with a Gigabyte GTX670 graphics card, connected via HDMI. I can't seem to get it set up right. 2 problems...

1. The screen has an unused border around the screen maybe 10mm thick.
2. It looks crap!

I read loads of reviews before buying this monitor and they were all great. However, the colours just look faded and washed out on mine. Can't think how to explain better. This screen is supposed to be full HD but it certainly doesn't look like it to me!

I think I just haven't set it up right. Any suggestions?

TIA

Look through the monitor's settings (and you graphics card settings) for 'Overscan' and turn it on

Hmm, that looks like it's just meeting the physical edge of the screen to me.. bit odd that they put a border around it like that?

Have you seen any other pics that suggest it goes all the way to the bezel elsewhere?

I haven't, but I expected it to. You may be right, it could be the way it's designed. I could live with that, but the poor display is starting to bug my tits.

Can you try a different connection

ie: DVID or something

I'll dig a cable out and try that. By the way, the 10mm border is a bit daft if that's the design, because it's marketed as a super slim bezel. Why put a super slim bezel on and then add 10mm of blank screen. Bizarre.

Anyway, I'll try some other connections and post back. Cheers.
