Hey all,

I've just noticed from my GPU-Z that Asus seem to use different memory Manufacturers, (Samsung and Hynix). Does anyone know why? Also will this effect real world performance?

It shouldn't have a performance impact as both are made to the same Jedec standard and are at the same clock speeds, though sometimes certain brands of memory are known to overclock better on certain cards.

No difference, both are great. I have found that the Hynix ones do seem to OC better in general, however I cant say I have enough of a sample to provide an accurate estimate. Just what I have experienced in general.

Samsung will often clock higher than Hynix and the Samsung memory also has tighter timings.

Here is one of my 980 Ti's with Samsung memory having a run on Valley @2160p.

Single GTX 980 Ti @1570/2102
4930k @4.0
2160p
359.06 Drivers
Stock Volts
