Best of luck to everyone concerned, and may you all reap the fruit of your labour :)

=/ fail the subject i wanted dam =/, C maths, D Computer Studies, E Media Studies... =/

off to the army with me? lol =/

Can you not sit summer school to improve your grade? Meh the army isn't so bad...many a famous person has risen through the ranks to become successful. Does the British army offer degrees through officer training? It might be an alternative avenue to pursue. Regardless, a degree isn't everything and you may be able to apply as a mature age student later down the track. :)

I don't think so, iv not heard of anyone doing that =/, i can repeat the year but im not sure. My Brother is in the army doing the same course i would do if i joined, Aeronautical engineering, not an officer and i belive he can apply to get a degree so thats also another choice :( I'm gonna have to have a look into my options.

Just replying without reading the rest of the threads. yes the British Army does give you the chance to get a degree, but it is not through officer training, it is offered to everyone, all you need to do is choose your subject make a comittment with the OU and the army offers quite a substantial amount to help you out each year.

It also does alot of intense courses at uni where you could get a diploma in a few weeks. but they are very intense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It may even cover the full cost as they are often heavily subsidised.

I know alot of people who have attained degrees whilst being in the Army.

Most officers join up after university which is maybe where the officer /degree link is made, but its there for everyone to grab if they want it.

Off to read the rest of the posts :p

I joined the RAF many years ago and studied at RAF Cosford for 18 months fulltime to get my Aeronautical engineering Avionics BTEC. I have a friend teaching there now, the 3 services are having trouble filling the technical courses some as much as 65% below capacity.

I must say though that the 15 years I spent in the RAF, including the 1st Gulf war, are some of the happiest time of my life, I am proud to have served my country. To anyone thinking of joining the forces I would say do it, you will get more out of it than a standard job imo.
