Aquaero Owners Club

Quick question
Is it worth sticking purchasing 2 splitty 9 to go with my aquearo 6xt so I keep the component all the same manufacturer or would anyone surgest another option for a fan splitter hub ie xspc / phanteks ect that will work as well or better

TBH mate Splitty 9 are so cheap it's not really worth looking elsewhere.

Hi all!

I'm using an Aquaero XT 6.

Currently have it controlling all fans in my case via the software.

I've been informed that saving the settings then unplugging the Aquaero from the motherboard should cause the unit to run independently, however, I tried this and the unit reverted to default settings.

When booting the fans run at 100%, then when my PC has loaded into Windows and the software starts they run at their controlled level, however, if I unplug the Aquaero they just run at full speed.

How do I get the Aquaero to save the settings then run independently of the software?

Think it was cos I was using software sensors.

Have a water temp sensor wired into the unit so have changed it round. Should be OK now!

so did this solve your problem? I'm looking to buy an Aquaero 5 LT and set my fan curves off the water temp sensor, will it run without the software after setup?

and a bit off topic but related, has anyone done any testing on if/how much the software affects gaming or other high load performance? I recently saw a vid that Gamers Nexus did testing a bunch of the motherboard bloatware that controls fans and RGB and they pretty much all degraded performance, some by a lot... and this is why I'm paranoid about it running without the software...

I paid less than $20 each for Phobya powered splitters (8 fans each), they work quite well IMO. They seem to respond to PWM properly for me. Aquero is a great option if you want to bind fan curves to liquid temps, but an awfully expensive solution.

isn't it the only option? the next closest I've seen was setting a max temp to max fan rpm and then its just a linear auto mode. But I haven't seen anything else you can set your own fan curve to. Is there a cheaper option that does specifically this part well? Cause all the other features the Aquaero has are lost on me...

These days you can do it with your motherboard, LOL! Well depending on board. These days I don't even bother overthinking fan curves anymore. It's "much ado about nothing" IMO, but I know I can set a different target for the fan curve on my Aorus Master X570, but not on the main CPU fan header, only on the OPT one. That's the trick.

yeah but that can reference your water temp... and it can't drive 3 fans per header... and I like to have my fans completely off during light load use (except 1 intake and 1 exhaust at really low rpm) mostly to keep dust build up slower cause the PC is in a relatively dusty location.

but other than that motherboard fan controls are pretty good these days, I agree

Motherboard fan controllers are fantastic these days. Its the software that is atrocious. I think nothing can compare to Aquasuite right now.

Running multiple fans on one header is also no longer a problem on select boards designed for watercooling. My philosophy behind it all though, is to have as few cables connected to the mobo as possible. It just clutters the case.

Although for me, running 8 fans on 1 header might be an issue on anyboard :)

Some motherboards also have specific fan headers that provide more than 1 amp of power, like Asus provides 3 amps I believe, which is more than enough for multiple fans. Though I wouldn't want to daisy chain all my fans off one header still.

Usually the Pump header also provides more than 1 amp, but in the case of custom loops can also be used for fans. There's many options these days.

Aquaero is dead tech now methinks unless you have a very special setup that needs really interesting cooling. Throw a D5 Next into your loop and it'll drive a Splitty 9 Active, throw 9 double headers on the Splitty and that's 18 fans or 3 360 Rads on push / pull -
The Aquaero is dead, long live the D5 Next or Octo or Splitty 9 Active :)

I don't like PWM. No matter what I seem to do I can not stop this PC ramping up the fans even though it's under water.

Board software is so rubbish.

Will need to dig out my PA3.

I use 4 presets on Aquasuite that I change with keyboard short cuts. No auto control.

I have a 5LT and 6LT dude. Sadly I have three rigs :D The one that doesn't have either is the one I can't seem to shut up.

Will have to dig out my PA3, and if I cant find it, buy another one.

I wouldn't trade my XT 6 with Aquasuite for anything. It's so customisable and nothing else I've used comes close.

I'm still using mine also. Even renewed the license. The PWM from the AQ6 is so clean that you dont get frequency whine like I did with my old EK vardars.

I do think however the Aquaaero pro is overkill today. I don't need to see the AQ display, so perhaps I should have got the LT instead. However software wise when hooked up with hardware info is awesome.
