Any Rasberry PI users out there ?

I arrived home today to a nice suprise, a PI B model rev 2, I ordered it months ago, and forgot all about it. Along with the PI, I also got a 4.4" lcd screen. So I'm sat here using the PI through my 50" and considering the size it performs pretty well. I was a bit concerned to begin with, with flashing the SD card with the OS, but now they have brought out the NOOBS way it was simple. To start with I'm using the basic Rasbian, as I have never used any thing Linux bases, so I thought that would be the best way to go.

So if there are any other PI users out there who would like to share some tips tricks, to help me out that would be great. Also If any one knows if the Android OS is any good, that would also be great. I'm off to play with my new toy

tbh most questions i had were solved going onto the PI user board, unless your linking it to an aurdiuno im not much help otherwise

That will be happening at some point, I've just come across the Aurduino, they look grate, I'm interested in the 2.8" touch screen. I have just found out that my OH new it was coming today, and the order she put in for me to Specialtech yesterday she added the Pulse modding case, hoping it would be here today, sadly not tomorrow now.

My plan is ( that's if I can find my way around it enough ) to make a mini arcade machine I've just downloaded retropi emulator i just need to dig out my ols usb game pad.

One quick question, I bought a small 4.3" lcd screen for fitting into cars to use for reversing cameras, the Instructions are lame, all it has got regarding voltage is

Power: < 3W
power supply: Dc6V - 32V

Does that meen that I can use anything between 6v and 32v ? It comes with the adapter that plugs into the unit, but with bare wires, and the Pi has a yellow rca, plug and so does the lcd. So connecting the 2 is simple enough they sent one with the Pi

As far as i can see, all it means is the unit needs about 3 watts, but voltage is regulated inside, so if your using 6 volts it needs 500ma but at 32V its 94ma well just under this, are you sure its not over 3watts? you got a link from where you got the screen from, i can find out for you more if you like.

I've just got it working mate, it had to be connected to something for any picture or anything to show. It's a great little screen 480 x 234 4:3 / 16:9 , contrast brightness saturation tint, and even sound. It looks just like a mini LG monitor, almost identical stand, and for a tenna bargain I'd say.

On the 50"

On the 4.3"

They have quite a few over at Amazon, I've just been checking them out. I'm thinking of making a mini CM, Trooper, Well trying too at least. I've even found some tiny all copper water blocks for 3mm hose No benefit probably, but it will look sweet, I've got an XSPC dual bay res, that I'm toying with the idea of using as the base.

that could be fun, main thing to remember, most things for linux works almost right away and i found alot of xp things worked really well.

Sorry for posting in this rather old thread, I just wanted to note that my eagerly awaited RasPi just arrived in mail yesterday =)

Onto learning how Linux shell works and how to crosscompile the boost libs for the raspi :D

Also it now runs my 3 BFL Bitforce 5GH miners :D
