Anime Thread

Cowboy bebop is another great anime that you may want to take a look at, but Greenback is on the mark with what he said

Both are very worth watching def some of the best Anime of the last few years!

also has anyone watched all of Naruto?

i skipped Naruto and went straight to Shippuden....... the thing that i dont understand is the 3rd and 4th hokage. How was it that Minito became the 4th while the 3rd was still living.

the role of the Hokage seems to be like the Pope (besides the last one) its one of those jobs that is yours till you die haha.

why would you even skip that? Its the basic and foundation of the naruto story imo. Where you get to see the beginning of the whole naruto philosophy and what actually is going on between Sasuke and naruto and a lot more. Where you get to see piece by piece whats wrong in this world and how they solve it. It teaches you some great stuff c; Been following it now for 2 years, aint that long. Following the manga too. I'd watch Naruto too instead of Shippuden alone.

I fear that after watching those he'll quit anime alltogether... Start with Fullmetal Alchemist or Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

I 2nd this... but you have to watvh it subbed. The dubbed version is horrible. This is a strong contender for best anime ever, it's not mind fucky like Evangelion is it's a perfect series to get a newbie hooked. I'm a huge fan i actually have Transmutation Circles tattooed on the palms of my hands lol

He stepped down mate, you would know that if you hadn't skipped straight to shipudden ;)

In regards to this in all honesty at first i didn't realize Naruto was split into 2 series, didn't do my research derp and i was already to far into Shippuden to just stop. If i watch something it has to be obsessively otherwise i dont enjoy it.

Whoa dat ending of the latest Akame Ga Kill episode...
The following contains spoilers, read at your own risk
Also: not my favourite character! ;( And such a gruesome death at that... Ahh this will have me feeling down for at least an hour now...

Hat off to the series creators for killing off likeable characters left and right... Not many creators besides George R.R. have the guts to do so.

I think Akame ga Kill is the best Anime of 2014 with Tokyo Ghoul 2nd and SOA2 3rd.

Make sure you get "Full Metal Alchemist:Brotherhood" as thats the version that follows the manga so its essentially the real story.

Sir yes sir!

I think thats the version ive got, im assuming watching with subs is gonna be better?

Watching without subs is heresy! Well... I did watch Spice&Wolf dubbed, but the cast was pretty good so I don't regret it.

Edit: Btw. why do anime-characters never make sure? I mean if I lived in a shounen-universe and by some chance was a protagonist or supporting character, I wouldn't turn my back on an enemy I shot once, or stabbed once... Most of the violent animes I've seen feature sturdy enemies where common sense would dictate to make damn sure the enemy is dead before turning your back to him. There are so many animes where 'unfortunate' incidents could've been avoided if the enemy had been decapitated (I personally dislike this method of death, I think it is extremely humiliating and demeaning) or had their brains destroyed... A mans skull is crushable with a good boot, and usually shounen-characters come equipped with some sort of martial arts techniques, if not swords or firearms.

also I've gotta say I think Itachi maybe one of the best designed anime Characters ever. His character development through out the series is amazing!

Just finished Ga Rei Zero and Sakasama no Patema. Both pretty good (the latter is a movie btw)

Edit: I just finished the manga (I don't think its called manga in korea but I don't know the proper name) "The Gamer"...

It's absolutely hilarious and I can really recommend reading it!

Edit2: At the moment I'm also up to date with "Tower of God" and I can also recommend it... Korean manhwa are highly entertaining!

Edit3: Finished "DICE" and now started this one: http://www.webtoons.com/episodeList?titleNo=98 it's hilarious I tell you :D

Edit4: Also read up on "Flow" and now finished "Orange Marmalade". It's mostly a romance but it has a background setting of extreme racial discrimination which adds a serious touch to the manhwa.

Edit5: Caught up with the Noblesse manhwa. It's also something worth reading in my opinion, but it may not be for everyone... In this particular manhwa the protagonist is basically absolutely invincible with no one even close to his level. This may put some readers off, but in return the series focuses on side-characters / character development and group-dynamics / development. It's pretty good.

Edit6: Started watching Terra Formars.... Holy shit that shit's scary.

kill la kill is okay if you're into that genre; i.e. a story making borderline no sense, cheesy scenes and a lot of stupid crap. If you can get past that, its a decent comedy which towards the end turns into ecchi scenes everywhere but you don't care because of what is happening. I'd say solid 6/10

Not liking Gurren Lagann is among the greatest sins of anime viewers!

On another note... I bricked my Kindle -> no more light-novel ebooks ;(

Edit, I found the greatest Manga of all times... Well not really but it is hilariously good.

It's called "Gate - Thus the JSDF fought there"
When I saw the "Apocalypse Now" lettering I knew some part of my imaginary soul just ascended to the non-existant heavens.

Read it if you can find enjoyment in a manga where the good guys are curb-stomping the bad guys like there's no tomorrow... Also lots of politics.
