Anime Thread

you've never heard oh kill la kill?

do you know what "Ecchi" or "Harem"?

Due to your mentioning it here I just started watching Kill la Kill. Uhm. It's strange, to say the least. But have to say: ARGH. Way too much fanservice.

hahahahaha, if you can see past it, to me it's a great show!

Yeah I know, I enjoyed it. The absurdity is just insane :D

I really want to start a new Anime now, but I don't think I've exhausted SAO entirely yet.

The one thing about SAO that really strikes me is the attention to technical detail. Sure there are some leaps for creative freedom, but the jargon is absolutely correct, technical details which were mentioned (even tho they were few) were either correct or plausible and the story was a bit different.

Next I'm probably going to read some Korean toons tho. A friend recommended "The Gamer" to me, I'll see what that's all about.

Why would they make No Game No Life only 12 episodes long?! :(

Now I'm going to have to find yet another thing to watch...

i have no idea mate, my guess is it did really do well in Japan, it's the same thing as high school of the dead...

did you check out Accel World?

Wow Anime thread is doing really well, who'd have thunk it  Still not managed to watch anything yet, it's all on my storage drive.

It matters not, currently. I have started reading the NGNL light novels and will be finished by tomorrow. I might just have to learn Japanese to bypass the translators...

I did take a look at Accel World, but I really disliked the protagonist and the first Episode, so it's on hold.

yeah i didn't like him at first, but after a few eps it was ok

i've just finished ghost hunt, good show, sh*t ending....

i watched FMA, but didn't really enjoy it and for that reason i didn't watch FMA Brotherhood.

Did you watch dubbed or Jap with Subs?

That is some of my Ink!

I'm obviously a huge fan of FMA (must be watched in Jap Aniplex just ed and al into annoying little wankers)

some of my other favs are-
Sword Art Online
Attack on Titan
Macross:Frontier
Technoman/Tekkaman Blade
Trigun
Evangelion
Bleach
Black Lagoon
Zoids: Chaotic Century

that's all i can think of off the top of my head lol

Ps. I haven't read anything previously said in the comments but i shall get round to it shortly.

Edit2-

The FMA anime diverges drastically from the Manga, which was used as a tempalte. It has an alternative storyline that is very interesting and the endings couldn't be more different.
FMA: Brotherhood is basically a 1:1 adaption of the Manga, the same storyline is followed and just animated and brought to life.

I personally watched FMA first and then FMA Brotherhood, but I think you can watch them in any sequence however you please and not have negative side effects. (Tho this doesn't mean that you need to watch both to get the full picture, watching either is fine, because either will produce their own picture. You can think of them more as separated stories with the only connection to each other being the protagonists and the universe they live in.

i did not :)
just said more about 1 closer to the manga :)

i didnt mean like that did you think if good/bad if so what have they done what you think is good or bad without spoiling it for others

In response to above^^^ the reason FMA diverges so much for the Manga is because the Manga was still being written. Juts like alot of Anime they jumped the gun on producing the show trying to capitalize on how insanely popular the Manga was and ultimately found themselves with no story content so they essentially made it up as they went the whole series of FMA was essentially filler to give the fans something till the manga was completed. I was watching it back in 04 as it were being released good times!

And following on from that, Brotherhood is meant to fall inline with the "Actual" or "Manga" Story line.

Both are great series in their own right. the first 20 eps have very similar story arc's but after that they become two completely different stories. I personally prefer the Brotherhood Arc, but both are worth a watch as well as the movies..... i kinda wish they'd continue the post Brotherhood Arc, but cant see it happening :-(

I have a few new shows to catch up with!
AH see you just jealous they dont have a Bleach moovie all about your fav character ;) or is that mean of me lol
i was gonna go mcm but could not get the weekend off :(
was sad nigri could not make it but neither could i lol

Bleach has such a wealth of intriguing characters. The spin off potential is huge. I personally would love to see spin offs for Yourichi, the Captain Commander and Ichigo's and Uryu's Dad's.

But Jesus Bleach has so much crap "filler" if they worked into the series so that it actually had a sense of time line it would be heaps better but jumping mid-arc to a filler-arc was so aggravating especially when all i wanted was to see the Aizen-Arc play out.

Ps. Gin really took me by surprise with his final acts. definitely made me view everything about him differently. So glad that plot twist was in there haha.

UUUMMM About SOAII 3 eps in now and the story-arc is still in its infantsy but will definitely be one to keep an eye on as it starts to mature over the next few weeks.

Black Lagoon is Mint- It's another series that must be watched Subbed.
