what do you think?

i am luke warm about the look of the red stuff but i do really like the metallic finish on it now that i watch the video.

that stuff is the same as the stuff i have.

i was deciding between the intel branded stuff which is blue and the black mamaba viper 3 and in the end i just picked the intel blue stuff because i liked it a bit more.

i really like the black ripjawsz stuff right now actually but i like the hyperx predator more.

my favorite looking memory EVER is mushkin ridgeback blackline

Arctic Combat is a light game, doesn't need alot of resources, and it's pretty fun!

And yes, a 60GB SSD would have sucked because it's not only about space it's also about speed, bigger SSD's are faster too, but I wouldn't necessarily see the SATA2/SATA3 thing as an issue because, either way it'd still be alot faster than what I use now, I wouldn't be looking to break world write/read speed records, just get better performance. I also noticed that you got great prices for these things over there, they are much more expensive here. The cheapest SSD I have seen lately... actually yesterday before posting the message I was looking to see if there still are some intel SSD's 60GB cheap but I only found a 40GB Mushkin for about... $80 and I think that it's very expensive. Everything is here, with around 25% added taxes and crap.
Your SSD is still great, even with 250MB write speed, it's outstanding actually. But I wonder how long will an SSD last, cause I have this hard drive for years, and I have other hard drives that are actually a lot older. it is true that SSD technology isn't perfected yet, we still need to see sold drives with higher capacity.

My voltage mod, well I did it in the evening so the pics I took were crap cause my camera can't zoom in that far, so there was no point, I did try cause I wanted to show you but it didn't work at all. And yes, I am sorry it didn't work either, i wish I knew why, and what I need to make it work, it was hard to get things soldered in place and I am glad I can't even tell there was a mod made. I am disappointed that they made this card and didn't add voltage control although the card uses two voltera chips that could be controlled trough software but still, the only way to add more voltage on the cores is by hard modding it, which simply sucks.

i have it in my steam--ill give it a try.

have you tried ordering stuff on amazon and seeing about getting it shipped to you?

what about just turning the flash on and macro on but not zooming in at all?

Buying things from outside Europe will require tax paying at the post office, 25% (VTA) out of the price of the parcel content value so It'd be as expensive as buying it here, maybe more. So it wouldn't be a great deal at all!

I watched your vid on the 13.1 drivers... They haven't released drivers for the "legacy" cards yet, I'm still stuck at 12.6 which works fine so far. I think AMD said that they will release updates on a quarterly basis instead of a monthly basis. A GPU upgrade is absolutely necessary!

thanks for watching that one! i know it isn't the most exciting video ever but i was just having a bit of fun. i also have a bf3 gameplay video with the 13.1 drivers but i dont know when i will upload that. as far as i can tell there isn't really much difference between 12.11 and this-i still need to read the actual change log wherever that is.

i wish they would release drivers more often rather than less! it doesn't really matter but i just like installing new things

650d video coming up :)

I was curious to see how your card performs and it's just beautiful! Those are some nice scores for both the GPU and CPU. Now I am not gonna say "mine does this and that" cause there is no point comparing them.

I love BF3 gameplays, upload that one as soon as you can. Waiting for your case video.

thanks you! i will upload the bf3 soon then :)

my plan is the have one video for each piece of hardware that i used in my current build including stuff i planned to use and didn't or just was testing etc. as well as all the other videos i have lined up. as mentioned i am trying to pace these videos and i apologize that some of them were uploaded before on the other channel. i do have plenty of new videos and new ones planned that were not up on the other channel.

here are a few more videos --

this is memory that i had for the x58 build but i did throw it in the z77 build for a very short time.

the Kingston hyper x kit is only rated for xmp 1600mhz but it will actually do 2133mhz no problem on z77 when i tried it

this is the fan controller i used for a while

and the blue bitfenix lighting. i had this in the case to test it out for about a week. this is much much darker, richer and even a bit purple in real life. i really love this shade of blue.

i also had the red gskill ripjaws z in there to test it and i have all 32gb of it in the x79 system now. i had a kit of gskill sniper in back i had in the z77 build to test as well but i sold it and i never got a chance to do a video of it.

i wont include the gksill video again since you've already seen it and it's already posted on here :)

I ended up just deleting the corrupt partition and reinstalling windows, which is really annoying and i hate doing that but the drive itself isn't dead.

i actually don't really hate metro stuff as much as it might seem in this clip, i definitely don't think it's a very effeceint use of screen real esteatte on larger machines, but the good points of windows 8 like the clean UI, much more detailed task manager/data transfer window, and host of other more modern features make it the obvious choice for me.

i did install windows 7 and spent about 5 minutes with it before hating the dated look and formatting again and putting windows 8 back on.

I have windows 8 back on the main machine and I am going to have to reinstall my applications, but it's not the end of the world.

I got windows 8 after seeing you use it, it looks awesome and is waaay faster than vista. A good purchase imo and at the end of February i believe the price will be going up. Not good for people who have to pay for it after then but its good for the people who have spare copies :D

ah i can't even remember vista! not good times for sure :p even on high end hardware vista wasn't very efficient. windows 8 is similar than 7 on fast hardware(definitely lighter and faster on slower hardware though) , probably a bit faster in some ways, but the main things that i notice how are things like the much more detailed graphs when transferring data, and the amazing task manager that shows cpu/mem/disk/network usage for each individual application, background process and windows processes. i also really dislike the aesthetic of vista/7 and i think the windows 8 matte/flat/square sort of aesthetic is much more minimal and clean, i know i like the look of it a lot more anyway. going back to 7 felt really dated when i was logged in there fiddling with the samsung drive. i actually prefer windows classic theme much more over the win 7 aero and i actually use the windows classic theme for my backup windows 7 installation. price vise the $40 direct download is a good deal my sister got that and had a seamless in place upgrade. i got the disk for $70 on preorder and i understand the prices will be going up at least for the disk.

I really hate gradients and whatever vista had. If it wasnt for the price i probably would have just got windows 7 and that would have been a mistake. I feel like i have more control over my pc with windows 8 anyway. :p

Win 8 was a nightmare for me, inconsistent stability, would randomly BSOD out of the blue.....

Then there is the annoying Start screen, although it can be removed by modding Windows.

i used 7 ever since it came out until 8 came out and it's a good os performance wise and feature wise. looks wise though the windows had the same sort of aero stuff that vista had + more because the task manager was aero as well. things like the grouped windows in the task manager for myself are a must have though since i run ridiculous amounts of programs and windows at once, so having the old style of 1 rectangle tab per application window open in the task manager like vista and xp had just woudn't really work for me anymore. so i used things like that in 7 a lot when i was using it and then.

i'm still not 100% firm on which i will be using for good from now on but after briefly going back to 7 last night it looked really dated to me and i immediately was annoyed with it. i agree i think the metro menu should never appear when it is being used on a desktop system because it doesn't make sense there, but the UI design for the windows and most other things i like a lot more in 8 than 7.

I got windows 7 when it was new too and it was awesome, i got a new pc that had vista and it was just terrible. The tabs at the bottom where a right pain in the bottom especially using gimp that opens a new tab every image you have open. I am lucky enough to have photoshop and windows 8 now that solves both the problems at once. I hated how they forced you to have blue in xp, i hated the gloss thing in vista, i hated the blue and clear thing in 7 and i freakin love the matte smooth square modern windows in 8. I also agree that metro is terrible. :p

i agree the xp blue/silver/green were all bad and looked not very serious at best, the aero stuff continued on that look that just doesn't convince me that it is a serious OS, the matte aesthetic of 8 i think is the best UI so far at least since windows 98/2000, but there are a few hints of 7 still around like the file explorer icon is the same as 7 and the folder icons are the same or similar, but that's not a big deal because most of it is vastly improved.
