Im having probs atm my card is a little corker, but as soon as I **** the cpu it all goes wrong, cant get both to play nice together at all now @ high clocks.
no matter what i do or which way round i try to flash the top bios, it just gives no display at all
looks like i may be forced to use the stock bios then afterall lol

In a minor revision guys if you want to use a modified bios we are going to require photo or video proof that you are actualy using the GPU that was sent in the kit. Any screenies showing modified base clocks or that you have already said were modded will now be discounted.
All photo evidence will have to be uploaded to http://upload.overclock3d.net
We also need a picture of the kit with the 3d06 screen showing as a second form of validation.
Yes before you ask this does mean you only have 24hours to pull out a winner, but hey you didnt expect it to be THAT simple to get a TWKR did you?

I agree though, bit of a bad move with that, 2 days notice is rather bad.

At the end of the day, mr 'a' for example has an air con unit... mr 'b' does not and relies on going out at 5am to get cold conditions like i have done to get a good score in cold conditions.
now mr 'b' may not get the time in a 24 hour period to get out because he works nights...so has to pray its a very cold day [in summer?]
mr 'a' still has an air con unit so in his 24 hr period heat is not his issue, this is why I have put in so much effort up to now.
So now to be told that you have a 24hr window to get in your best score is a low blow especially at such short notice, if I had known this earlier I could have booked time off work!
Also it seems strange that I mentioned I had a killer score backed up which is now worthless, then the very next day the rules change? seems a bit odd to me.

I totally sympathise with you mate as i fully understand the effort that would be needed to over clock these CPU's. Time constraints are some times a limiting factor in comps like this but if not is present in the first place then people needs , need to be considered.
The only thing i can think of how ever is that the suppliers of the equipment might be demanding that results are shown in a particular way or would like to see results at a certain point but then this should have been pointed out with enough time for people to be able to match up with what is needed.
As all ways though rules do change in comps and if it changes so much that 1/2 the contestants are left in the dark or suddenly put out of the game then it could be a bad move on all parties involved..
The thing is with this comp the prize is not some thing to be scoffed at. It is worth a small fortune and is some thing even i would consider that i would mount in a frame and hang it up on the wall.

The reason why we did this was there was only 1 card able to run a tweaked bios so we were just removing anyones chance to say that there own card was being used instead of the kit that was sent for the compo hence:
All we are trying to do is remove anyone being accused of not using the actual compo kit.

thats fully understandable tom and i agree with the concept behind the idea.
How ever giving the time scale and the score involved. Would it be possible to extend a few extras days to say Sunday afternoon giving each person a little lea way and the chance to prove the scores are real.
This would be a little give and take from both sides. I think that would be agreeable for all parties involved in this small problem.

from both sides. I think that would be agreeable for all parties involved in this small problem.the reason no one else is able to flash the bios is because you need to remove the fan profile, I asked long before I used the asus top bios if it was ok and was told yes.
anyway as ive been pushing this thing so hard it now looks like my cpu is degraded so ill do what I can but i still think this is unfair.
the only person this ruling hurts is me.
