yeah, there's a few ways to do it, manually in rivatuner, edinting the bios directly, or by using a lil app with rivatuner

asus top bios helped me with memory overclock, didnt help oc on the core though. the mem boost didnt seem to help with scores for me so yes im in the same boat as you just trying to bump the cpu.

I'm just thinking of ways to get it cooler on air, I might try getting it out in the garden early morning, im determined to crack 23k on this!!

as soon as i got the kit, i flashed the motherboard bios to 1702, then 1704 when that came out.

then when i saw toms scores i tried 0801, but it made no difference, and now i'm on 1804 *shrug*

BUT please be careful, I had to do a bios recovery when I first flashed them cos card refused to post. in the end I had to flash them slave/master rather than master/slave if you know what I mean to get the card working again...thankfully I did recover the card.

Like I said before mate I don't recommend trying it in case your card dies, 1000mhz stock on your gpu ram might not work, please bear that in mind. I was lucky mine worked. after reverse flashing...I need a single core gpu to boot to recover. was a hairy moment I assure you.

I'm not done yet and as I said to Tom last week im determined to hit 23k with this set up....good luck mate.

Interesting you mention you had to flash yours the other way, i tried the same files on mine and they failed. Then it took another 2 hours to find originals as i didn't back up...

In the same thread there's some un-modded TOP bios files too if you dig a little.

Very weird,

i already have the original unmodified TOP bios for the reference cards, but i read over and over again on multiple forums that the TOP bios just bricks the tri fan cards and people had to go back to the original bios again

i thought you may have found some better tri-fan bios's or a way to mod the TOP bios to work properly

i just don't see how the slave bios would even work as the master as the slave bios's have no fan profile for starters

i've downloaded and checked the files and they are definitely correct, 0 is master and 1 is slave

Using ATIflash's -i I found that the slave reference was 0 and master 1. Maybe Asus just set the tri-fan differently to other cards?

I can't remember exactly, but i think i had to flash the originals backwards to un-brick my card aswell (it was about 4am).

I just backed up the bios's of the tri fan card and checked em and 0 is slave and 1 is master on the tri fan

will be trying the original top bios l8r

yep i suggest you try the unmodded ones first guys.

I re edited mine...all part of overclocking, if you check gpuz screens you can see its the same release bios.

yeah, i've been running the unmodded ones on my own card for months now

it does allow for higher mem clocks, but at the expense of looser timings

[edit]i've just tried flashing to them tho and still bricked the card lol

plugged in an old 8800gts to flash the backups back and it's alive again
