always check your ISP

Ok I know i'm up for some abuse here, already had a heap over msn from XMS

I've been trying to solve my poor ping rate and decided to check my ISP's service, now seeing as I moved 12 months ago from a major city to a tiny tiny viallge I didn't expect much service, so I wasn't suprised when my ISP downgraded me from 2meg to 512k, oh well, i thought.

Anyway checking online today I log into my account to see I'm on 256K @ £15.99 a month!!!!!!!!!

So I looked around my ISP's site and found I could upgrade to 2meg Unlimited (fair usage) for £14.99 contrary to their support who told me over the phone that 512 was the max I could have in my area!!!

So I guess this is a lesson to all the stupid people like me who really should pay much more attention

My ISP offer the same package @2mb as i have at 512k for the same price.

Always helps to check your current ISPs website every now and again.

I was on 1mb for £35/month. This was the norm 2 years ago when I ordered it.

I do a check and discover that ISP no longer offers the package I got, they offer 8Mb @ £25 / month with 50Gb usage.

This was ok, 50Gb is a fair amount of usage, but in the end I got Tiscali. 8Mb (fair usage) @ £15 / month.

Plus the MAC code made switching a doddle and a snap. There was no downtime. At all.
