Hi I am trying to find a DVD drive bay cover in black aluminium that will work with an atc840. The only one that I can find is the Lian Li C-02B but this appears to only work with lian li cases due to the fixing plate being the correct depth to fit flush on Lian Li cases.

Can anyone suggest an alternative?

You can probably stealth the drive by using the drive cover, or buy a external drive.

Thanks for the reply, thats a great idea. I'll look into it. The stealth idea sounds good. But the external drive may be the easiest and i can sit it on my desk.

Can you buy external enclosures separatly?

oh thats very nice much is that going to set you back? im not totally sure if there is a performance difference but from an external usb hard drive and an internal sata one the performance in massively different

Its 35pound, I rearly use a dvd drive, but when i use it for loading up games, ripping cds I do like some speed. Atm I have a pioneer dvd-216 and I flashed it with a new bios, so it works well will most media types. The e-sata caddies are like 35-50pound and thats abit ott i think.

yeah im the same i rarely use one myself and was going to get an external to suit myself like that but i just refused to pay the money they were wantin for an esata on so ill just stick with an internal just now

but its a good lookin drive u have there and for how much u use it if a usb loses speed it really wont matter all that much

i think ill get myself one got a few IDE hdd's lying about and an IDE DVDRW

Stealthing drives is quite common and pretty easy to do, but looks sick when done like Bungrals. Would also work out as being free if you already have a drive and a spare bezel :)

Cheers Bungral, your a super star. I love the paint job. :)

Looks like a precision job. Spot on. Looks really simple, just remove the plastic clip from the back of the plate and stick it onto the drive tray.

My pioneer drives eject button is sticking out from the bezel more than the tray, so I should be able to get away with just sticking the ali plate on the outside of the tray. The button should work as its protruding.

Point me in the right direction of that gel sticky stuff?? Sounds like the same stuff that they stick debit cards to paper on bank letters.

Not sure where that came from to be honest.

Obviously make sure you take the plastic bezels off the DVD drives though ay or it wont sit flush.

After messing around for ages, anything will pretty much do to hold the case bezel to the dvd tray so long as it's strong enough and double sided.

Think there is a No More Nails type tape for sale in hardware stores now that might do the trick.

As for the button, it's just a case of lining it up properly and sticking something on the back of the cases bezel just the right thickness to make it click the button as you'd like.
