I have this rad and its a BEAST, looks awesome too.

I Intend to have it the roof of my switch 810 then connect the 360 to my 240 at the front using the outlet/inlet at the end of the rad. But after watching tom's video where he is talking about the port at the end of the rad as just a drain/bleed port I just wanted to ask if the port at the end of the rad is usable as a inlet/outlet or only used as a drain/bleed port.

The problem with using this as a normal inlet/outlet is that the water in these rads flows in the shape of a "U" when you look at the rad from top (facing the fan mounting surface) from one end tank to the other side of the rad and back to the other end tank.

So when you take out the water at the other end you basically destroy the proper water flow route and are using only one half of the radiator (either the left or right one).

You might get away with this if you use both end tanks as inlets/outlets in parallel and then use the drain hole on the other end of the rad.

This would be something similar to a cross flow radiator. However, I have read on multiple occasions that cross flow rads have worse performance than their U flow counterparts.

Another thing to consider is that this end tank was not at all designed with this port as an outlet/inlet in mind, so water flow might be very suboptimal with regards to fluid dynamics.

If you do try this I highly suggest doing a standard setup first for reference and testing the "drain port setup" against that to see how performance behaves.

im with alpenwasser,
you using the "7th" port as another attachment other than bleeding, will cut the
radiators potential in half or more.

cross-flow does the same as the water only passes through once and doesn't use
the transfer as designed. you'll note, cross-flows have monster high fin density
to try and make-up the lost transfer from not able to double back for more cooling.
bleed port or fill port.. not plumbing more tubing to devices..
