Alleged AMD Vega benchmarks appear online

Well this throws a monkey wrench in my idea. I mean I know Raja was in Shanghai like ages and ages ago going over the design for Vega but the 490 was supposed to launch in October (according to AMD themselves, it was listed on their site) so now? god knows.

Either way I am too poor for uber end GPUs now. Probably a good thing really, they were probably about the worst possible waste of money for me. Never got sod all back for them either.

I'm kind of disappointed if they are the scores Vega is getting in a dx12 benchmark. I know beta drivers and possible underclocking may be at play, but I really want a beast of a gpu to be on the cards

It is expected that Vega will come in several forms, like Polaris coming in Polaris 10 and Polaris 11.

This GPU is thought to be an RX 490, with an RX Fury coming above it. Right no this is what is rumoured, but right now we have no clear info available.

Sadly right now all we can do is guess as new info comes.

IIRC there are two flavours of Vega. Vega 10 and Vega 11. The former was rumored to take on the 1070 with the latter rumored to sit between the 1080 and TXP.

If this Vega is GDDR and has a good price (£300-£350) and does take on the 1070 it will be a good card for mid/high end users.

They are better leaving HBM to the higher end card tbh. They also need to work with game devs to sort out multi GPU too because Navi is supposed to be scaleable.

Vega 11 is the smaller chip again. Rumored to replace P10 with better performance/watt.
V10 is the Fury Line replacement. Expected equal performance to 1080. All rumors of course.
Also Vega is supporting HBM2 across the board according the all the slides they posted before.
