Fair play. Another reason I never buy at launch. There's always an excuse as to why they cost far more than they said they would.

I'm very glad to hear that msrp models will continue to be made available, even if it's limited. I really don't see it making any sense paying for the higher end models when some reviews are showing virtually no difference between models. I've even seen cheaper models outperform expensive ones due to silicon variances. Everyone has spent the last two months fighting over what AMD should charge, complaining about the delay. Now that these cards are out, people are jumping at the opportunity to pay $800 for a GPU they or others insisted had to be no higher than $650. What a pointless escapade that all was.

More than happy with the Gigabyte gaming OC was meant to pay 569 but day one i paid 679 and i'd say thats a little over shouldn't really be more than 629 for my card generally as for paying more well if the nitro + would have fit then yep i'd instantly pay the 699 but tbh thats the only model i would pay for at that price zero reason to pay 800 on a card that simply isn't better than the nitro + and being totally honest i'm getting 3300+Mhz on an undervolt so no reason to pay 800 just not one and certainly not to ASUS!!

It's AMD. So it was obvious.

Once the Nvidia cards actually come out for real AMD will have to drop their prices to get more mind share any way. TBH the 30 ish pound premium is peanuts any way, given you can't buy an Nvidia at any price rn.

A £30 premium is definitely not a huge deal with cards costing this much. It's when people pay £100 or more. That's the bit I find funny. It felt like the entire Internet was demanding AMD to not charge a high amount, but somehow that same 'Internet' now wants these GPUs even at an inflated price and are using strange excuses for it, like higher quality materials and better overclocking. Go figure.

I do get it in a way. I bought a higher-end 1080 instead of saving up another £100 and getting a budget 1080Ti. That was the way I choose to do it and didn't regret it. I had a build aesthetic in mind and the 1080Ti version of it was too expensive for me. But I wasn't running around complaining at the price and availability of those cards like people are now or were doing.

But yeah, rant aside, I agree that once Nvidia starts allocating wafer capacity to Geforce, AMD will have to be act more aggressively.

Well don’t expect Nvidia to do jack nothing they too busy selling AI cards at huge profits to even care what i find weird is how so many defend nvidia in different ways while also complaining no different to anything tbh but nvidia straight up couldn’t care less about the gaming market and this generation made every mistake possible. Just think you too can buy a nvidia dud rops edition at the msrp of the one it’s meant to be spec’d as and you also get free central heating in the form of cable fires 🔥

The fact is if i OC my card 10% in cyberpunk i’d hit 250 plus fps with less fake frames than a 5090 at 300fps if amd focus their AI over time they going to smash that 5090 with a card more than three times cheaper and that is a reality.

dlss doesn’t even have really much advantage anymore at all so tbh true everyone makes choices or justifies purchases but i couldn’t justify paying 800 for a 9070XT so nah I definitely couldn’t justify paying msrp for a 5090 and certainly not a flagship product being pushed upto 3500 😂😂😂
