Akasa Venom vs Nh-D14 or New Noctuas?

Hi guys fairly new to this forum so Hello

My problem is i am trying to push my 1055t to around the 4Ghz mark, currently at 3.6Ghz just above stock volts. But with my Akasa Venom I’m getting close to 62C and obviously don't want to overheat the CPU for a 24/7 clock. So i was wondering how much better do you think a NH-D14 would be also think it's worth waiting as Noctua have got some new cpu cooler on the way? http://gallery.guru3d.com/gallery/Tradeshows/2011/Computex/noctua/index.html#IMG_0560.JPG

I don't think the new ones will be significantly better in terms of cooling, imho. Despite comparing the two - I personally have no idea, try searching for benchmarks.

like kilo says mate you should get a drop around 10c, maybe a little more as the x6 loves the bigger coolers, but tbh your temps sound high for that cooler unless you have a high vid to begin with :|

Yeah i thought that where a little high, my core is a 1.356V (CPU-Z)and the 62C is when running Prime. - I’ve tried re-seating the cooler many times and lost about 3C. Could the current orientation of the cooler be a slight problem? It's currently facing down towards a 6970 and cannot be moved 90 degrees on the AMD socket.

EDIT : its the 125W 1055t

This is a part of your problem with heat rising in the red zone. That 6970 is generating a lot of it.What mobo do you have?

ah so its sucking the heat off the gpu too :/

thats not going to help either then

do you use afterburner to use its custom fan profiles to keep the card as cool as you can? if not i would try that. it will make it a little louder when your gaming but thats about it.

better tim might knock a couple of c off it depending upon what you are using atm too but a bigger heatsink will be your best bet.

I do use a custom fan profile, I dont mind the noise from it whilst gaming, currently got MX4 on the CPU and GPU

Thanks for the help so far guys

ND-h14 is nom to heat. loves heat, it managed to shave off 30c off my oc 965 x4 best thing ive bought for cooling, but i do have a 230mm side fan blowing air on to it aswel.
