Hey guys,
So I am now going to enter the world of overclocking, but not in the "usual" way to speak.
I have an 7700K, non overclocked and just got my new Thermolab LP53 cooler with an Noctua NF-A9x14 PWM from an Noctua NH-L9x65.
So I now want to undervolt the CPU as much as I can, since the CPU cooler is quite limited (the case I am getting is very limited in terms of CPU coolers and this is kinda the best there is to get out there for it), I want to try and get as good temps as possible.
I don't really need heavy OC's or so, hence thinking of either just sticking with the stock 4.2GHz or dial it down to 4GHz. Just to get better temps overall.
I wanted to hear with you guys, what you thinking of it all etc. Especially you all who have experience with overclocking and so on.
Dicey mentioned that he hadn't experienced anything over 4GHz to make a difference in games at 1440p, which is the resolution I am on.
What do you guys think here? Should I stick with the stock 4.2GHz or go down to 4GHz for better temps? Does/will these 200MHz make a difference in the real world anyway?...
Also what utilites/software do you usually run when doing these tests etc?... I've been recommended Aida64 for 30 min and Cinebench for 20 min.
Thanks guys,
Chrazey
