Advice wanted on Radiator [New to P.C Modding]

some interesting results there. So is it a Monsta 360 ( which comes in white & would blend in with my case better ), or, the untested Copper 360 AMS which has some nice design features like filters & temps that can be bought seperatly.

decisions, decisions....

would an 80mm thich rad ( plus fans ) fit in the 820, without fouling anything?

Try before you buy anyone ^_^ ha!

Well after seeing some of the testing available, I'm more inclined to go with the Monsta, mainly because it's cheaper and its performance is well established. The test data so far for the AMS is too unreliable for my taste, unless someone on the OC3D review team gets sent one for direct comparison to other radiators, I just don't want to risk it.

The fun begins! The anticipation of new toys, the agony of waiting, the frustration at receiving incorrect or broken parts, the cursing, the crying when the install goes a bit wrong, etc. :D

Good luck on your build!

Don't know about you, but any time I get new parts, I'm like a little kid in a sweeties shop :p

That being said, can't wait to get pics of the lot :D

ok, Wednesday is pay day, so ill order then, & ill put up the pics when they start slowly arriving.

After watching a video on 120mm fans, I think im going to go for the noctura F12's ( though, its a shame there brown, not white ).

Yes expensive, but hey, 2 GTX580's get quite hot, so anything thatll aid in cooling them down, efficiently, seems to work for me.

I'm also tempted to suggest SP120QEs, as they are a fair bit cheaper and will do pretty much the same job. You want to run them in pull with the 80mm rad anyway just to make sure you have a little bit more clearance, and the SP120QEs will do almost exactly the same job in pull as the F12s. Go watch Tom's comparison, I think an H100 isn't the best test for static pressure fans, but it's quite indicative of relative performance in any case. The 360 Monsta can handle a pair of 580s quite well either way, I don't think 2 degrees at most are worth the 15 quid extra you'll end up spending with F12s instead of QEs.

You might as well leave the NZXT fans in there, unless they p-ss you off, in which case, some AF120QEs will do nicely and look the part as well. I think a white case with black and white fans and a black rad will look the mutt's nuts :D

In any case, have a look at the vid and have fun modding :D:D:D

ok, money permitting this month, as my car has developed a fuel leak out the fuel sender, so that's taken a big chunk of my money, however, things on its way to me:

NZXT Phantom 820 Case in white (NEW) - £139.99
Aquacool NexXxos Monsta 360mm also in white (NEW) - £67

ill start a new thread when parts arrive. Under what section is best to post the thread?

Sorry to hear about your car.

I'd stick the new thread under Build Logs, and preferably link it here when it's up to avoid confusion :)
