Advice regarding fan direction dilemma

Hi all,

Currently in the process of a build, well working out dimensions etc first and what i want to do.

First off ive got a 480mm rad in the floor with a push pull setup and ive covered the entire thing up with a custom design, but the issue ive got is the way ive designed this piece is so that the fan led's light up the edges of it somewhat, but the fans and the lighting effect looks much better with the fans in exhaust setup, meaning blowing air out the bottom of the case.

Now i know this wouldnt be normal, usually intake bottom, exhaust top etc etc heat rising and all that mumbo jumbo. What i want to know is if i had them in exhaust format, how much disadvantage would this be causing over having it the usual intake way.

GPU's and the CPU are watercooled, both are also on separate loops (dual loop setup purely for looks) so the heat from each is separate.

Basically if i put exhaust in the floor, how bad will it effect airflow/ ambient case temps overall or if its really not advisable to do.

Although I don't know your exact config (case, other rads in the rig,..) I wouldn't worry about it, looks go over a couple degrees hotter case temps.

My case is an Enthoo Primo, but ive ripped most of the insides out and in the midst of custom work.

The 480's an Alphacool UT60
Also an XSPC AX360 ive had boxed for a while.

The 360's purely for the CPU alone.

My fans on the rads are mostly Noctua NF-F12's with the exception of 4 led fans on the top side of the 480 for aesthetics.

I Liquid cool purely for the joy and looks but mostly the quietness.
Good temps are a plus but i wont worry over a couple of degree's here or there if there's much of a difference.

So im guessing i shouldnt worry too much about it overall? ^_^

Nah it'll be good having it as an exhaust. In fact you'll be blowing hot(ter) air in having it as an intake, as the air will pick up the heat being dissipated by your rad. For example I have a bottom compartment in my 900D with a 480 rad as intake, the top compartment has a 480 rad as exhaust. The air temp inside the bottom compartment is always higher than the main case air temp due to hotter air being blown in.

In the end you still do as you please, those few extra degrees when doing a custom loop aren't going to make such a massive difference :)

I think the only big concern is negative car pressure settling more dust I'm your system. Otherwise, go for the looks.
