Advice needed on upgrading

I have a custom computer that I built about 7 months ago, here's the specs.

AMD FX-4100
ASRock 970 Extreme3
EVGA GeForce GTX 550 Ti (1 Gb)
8 Gb (4x2Gb) 1600 MHz Corsair Vengeance
Antec 400 Watt HCG

So I need to upgrade to keep up with my friends and their newly built machines. I am planning on lighting first to complete the aesthetics, and I want to focus more on performance. My video card, processor, and power supply will most likely be suggested, so which one first? Unless I go overboard on one piece I probably won't bottleneck, so just want to see some opinions. Also, don't be afraid to treat me like a noob, I know quite a bit about computers. Thanks in advance!

How much are you willing to spend? Also, either way you go, the psu will be the first thing you need to upgrade.

there are a lot of ppl who don`t know how much W a pc use .that antec can hold an i5 + gtx 660 no prob for example and still be at maximum efficiency in games(50-60%load).i would get a fx 6300(to keep the mobo) and a 7870(or gtx 660). now thats a fine budget pc.the psu can handle them no problemo
