Adopted OS Poll

I'm just guaging to see what users have adopted as their primary OS on their primary machine.

There's been great discussion regarding user experience, where some have had positive experiences, whilst others not.

The poll options are:

XP

Vista

Other

XP --> Vista

Vista --> XP

The last 2 poll options are for users who have settled on either XP or Vista after trying the prior first.

For example: If I was originally on XP, but then moved to Vista but didn't like it, thus moving back to XP, I would select "Vista --> XP"

Example 2: If I moved from Linux to Vista, I would select Option 2, "Vista"

It'll be interesting to know why you've made your choices too, stating whether you used the 32bit or 64bit versions too.

First choice is currently Vista after using XP for a long time, with Dual Boot as a backup option.

I thought it meant you dual booted which would mean a primary and secondary OS. Altho then why would there be 2 options

Also I thought it might mean XP>Vista or Vista>XP.

So "XP --> Vista" means you moved from XP to Vista? (surely this will apply everyone who votes for Vista?)

And "Vista --> XP" means you tried Vista but went back to XP? (surely if you're voting this you'd also want to vote for the "XP" option?)

Vista is my choice. Though I can't currently run it on my new rig, I would if I could though! Sticking with 2k3 for now.

XP as the performance hit from vitsa in games was horrible. Although i may give it anther whirl now ive got an 8800...

Was on vista for quite a while but went back to XP for the same reason ^

Lost about 50% of my FPS with the vista Nvidia drivers. I will move back over as soon as SP1 is out I expect.

1-OSX,

2-XP,

3-Vista

thats how they stand for me currently....

i enjoyed vista but got sick of the sound crackling and stupidity so much so i went back to xp until i either change motherboard or SP1 comes out (or crysis which ever comes first and yes SCREW Halo 2 and its vista only BS)

I'm on the onboard atm till I can be bothered to find something else and the sound is great

I've got Vista that I use for day to day things but when I came I boot into my other HDD that has XP on. My laptop also runs vista

I'm happy on XP. I plan to upgrade to Vista when it's all straightened out and games work on it

The main reason I'd upgrade to Vista is because it's the only way to use DX10...
