Adding Another HDD to Set Up Raid 1

Hey,

I currently have a 2TB HDD in my system where I store all of my media, such as my videos, photos & games and i dont want to lose this especially photos and videos so i was wanting to buy another identical drive and set it up in Raid 1. But i want to keep my data on the original drive. This is not the main OS drive. Is this possible or do i need two blank drives?

I have a Maximus Hero VIII Mobo & i7 6700K

setting up a new raid config will wipe the drives, so yes you will need clean drives.
