Acrylic Tubing Quick Release?

I'm going to be building an acrylic loop in my 350D using Acrylic Tubing. The problem arises when I want to fill/drain the loop. I've thought about adding a quick release port on the res that I can plug a tube into when I need to drain it.

Is this a good idea or should I simply add a T junction into my loop? Also is the best place to have the drainage port low down?

Personally, I would add a t line, with a tap. Ideally, doing it this way you want it at the lowest point in your loop.

But please remember, you want it to look good, so be sure to add it in a fashion that maintains looks!

You want the drain port to be at the bottom yes. You could also have a tube coming out of the res with a stopper barb in it, and release it when you want to drain the loop. I have one of these but as a fill port and they're nice and handy. There's no need for a full on quick connect to add on a tube to drain I don't think.
