About to purchase WC setup

Hi all,

Took a browse around the forums and web and found some useful infos. However, I'm keen to now get some opinions on the setup I've put together for myself. Note that this is going to start off as a single loop system, but will undoubtedly be upgraded to include a second loop in the near future:

  • 1x Swiftech MCP355 pump (weighing up against the MCP655)
  • 1x XSPC Dual 5.25" Bay Reservoir (should the MCP355 be chosen)
  • 1x Black Ice GTX Gen Two Xtreme 360 Radiator
  • 1x Danger Den MC-TDX Block (or Swiftech APOGEE XT REV 2; whichever is less restrictive, bearing in mind the eventual addition of a GPU block. The EK-Supreme HF High Flow block was also recommended to me)
  • 6x PrimoFlex Pro LRT UV Blue Tubing -1/2" (6 feet total length)
  • 6x Danger Den FB (Fat Boy) G 1/4 Fittings - 1/2"
  • 6x Lamptron Elite Aluminum Reusable 1/2" Clamps
  • 1x IandH Silver KillCoil

Thanks all.

Going to be attaching it to an i5 2500k, p67 sabertooth. GFX I'm still undecided on, but that needs to wait for a while now anyway. Case is a Cosmos S.

Been getting some strong statements recommending the EK Supreme HF block with the setup above, but I'm really not too familiar with it. Going to be doing some reading up now, however.

Educating myself as this is my first WC build.

aye. I have not heard many bad things about the EK HF blocks, but loads of praise for them. Seems like you have a good setup going, now to just finish it

youll need two silver kill coils not 1.

As for EK atm. stay away from them for the time being .. there is massive problems with the company atm with plating issues.

Its seems that the last few batches that have gone out "May" have issues with plating and there are Lots of people complaining about them. Ever one is waiting for there statement as if they accept RMA then this will cost the company a huge amount of money (could cause the company to collapse if it is larger then they say it is), if the don't they will lose public confidence ect ect. This could have a large impact on the whole industry.

if you after bling then by all means get the clamps from lamptron but personally i use spring clamps 10 for £1.00.

Nice, good to know. Based on that I'll have to give EK a miss. Someone pointed out this great thread and I'll see what's up instead: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=253470

I should mention that I'm based in South Africa and am ordering from the States (bulk order). If there's issues like the one you mentioned above then I'll have to pass simply due to the fact that if anything goes wrong it'll be a mission to RMA. Having said that, the clamps I'm ordering work out to be 9 Rand (80p) more than the ones you suggested, so yeah, bling it is hehe.

The entire setup, incl. shipping from the US, works out to be more than £500 less than if I were to source it locally. Crazy.
