A64 1/2" Waterblock.... HELP!

Hi guys...

I have bought a new case and water cooling componets to replace my Asetek Waterchill setup.

Our main man BAcon has sorted me out with the following...

PC75

Fillport

HE120.3

AquaXtreme 50Z-DC12-T

Silverprop HL GPU

The only thing that I still need to find is a CPU block and some tubing. I need it all to be 1/2" and I want decent stuff.

I dont think I can justify the £160 needed to get a G5 but I need your help in choosing.

I get the impression that its gonna be better for me to get a block with 2 barbs not 3. Is this the case?

The blocks im thinking about at the moment are:

Swiftech MCW6002-64 (these seem to be out of stock everywhere).

What is better.. the DD RBX or TDX?

Can anyone suggest another block that I should be looking at? I have seen a silver version of the TDX... was bootyful but was also £70.. is it worth it?

Help me out guys!!

Also, is there any point in getting one of the performace shrouds for the RAD?
 
id got dd tdx mate or d-tek lrww blick phil sells that is also very good and btw i have justifyed teh £160 and shoudl be gettin my g5 block thursday :P (sorry if that calssed as thread jacking)

get teh tdx with a nizzle kit an dput nozzle 4 init or the lrww block (pm i have a tdx for sale if yr interested cheap) lapped and nozzle 4 + brass top :P

You reckon the G5 would be a good move then mate? (For me I mean)
 
I'd buy a G5 if you can. It may seem like a lot but they are the best blocks around. They hold there value well also.
 
TDX is better imo due to only having 2 barbs unlike the RBX which has 3, its also more restrictive than the TDX, might be 0.5C in it at the most extreme end of the flow rate graph, take a look at the grapgh i showed you mate, they were results taken from over at pro cooling so going to be reliable

take his tdx nozzle 4 with brass top or wait for a 6002 mate

tho a G5 would be nice, the benefits arent going to be noticeable, like i said, about 2C better than a 6002 :)
 
isnt a G4 like £45 or sometihng... i looked into getting one, and it was £40 + del about 6 months ago... but on backorder, so i got a 2nd hand TDX

so whys he replaced it with the G5 for £150 .... that knocks most people right off... his silver versions used to be in that price range, and did copper versions for £50 or whatever .... :(

whys the G5 so much ?
 
so this £150 G5... i take it thats silver, and is there a standard one ?

I get the impression that the Storm G4 was about £65 when it first came out.

It is copper and thus cheaper to produce than one with a solid Silver base (G5)... hence its price tag.

The G5 is soo expensive coz yoou could probably take it to the local jeweller and pawn it on the value of its Silver alone.

I have bought BAcon's G4 from him so yeah... its second hand :)
 
well i know the prices of the G4's as i bought 3 of them from cathar, me, phil and jez (legion) had them

They were not £40, where ever you got that from is wrong, i payed £190ish on the exchange rate at the time (im sure it doesnt fluctuate enough to reduce each block by £20) with insured shipping.

make ing them about £63inc each, plus then i had to send them to phil and nimrod so theres were a few quid more.

Cashman the block is sweet, you wont be dissapointed ;)

edit: the G5 if you wanted to get one came to be about £110-£115 i think with shipping if you had the money to put a deposit on the silver (as he had to buy the silver in for the exact amount of blocks) before he made the blocks (about 4-6 weeks before he started work on them)
 
hehe and trust me imo, it wasnt worth the extra wait and £55 for 1/2C difference in temps ;) so dont worry your not going to miss out by having a G4 over a G5
 
Tell me about it mate, a G4 is still waaaay better CPU block than I was originally after :)

was guna organise courier tonight for 2moro dude, so tuesday delviery, gives me 2night to clear the case out
