A little out of date

yeah luckily they only charged me 120 for the mobo and didnt put it up

i'm sure it's the law in the UK that you have to sell it for what it is advertised too

plus if you make a big enough problem out of something eventually they will sell you it ;)

I have used that company time and time again and only had a problem with a graded 280GTX. Once you have your card you can simply warranty it via XFX. I have to say they are the cheapest for the 5770 as that is where I got mine from. They're not VaporX though.

Here we go. I have never used this company so be warned. What I would do is google the company name, run the name through a DNS lookup and so on. Use a credit card incase something goes wrong and you should be fine.

I used to live close to there many years ago. Shipping is around £7 so works out a good price.

Wow im impressed in the sites that you have found, the google technique you mentioned is the one I used to find the sites I stated earlier in the thread but these are prices are really good.

I think im going to use the videocardshop to purchase my gfx card, how did you find their customer service when you had that problem with the graded 280gtx?

In the UK they are allowed to change the price once they become aware that they have made a mistake, i saw it on a show on bbc where they put up a fake price for new ipods and made the price £30 so a customer took up the offer went to the till and tried to buy it with £30 he was going crazy and said this is how much its advertised for blah blah yet they still wouldnt sell it for £30... so i guess the advertised price can be changed in the uk

The guy is nice enough. However I had to pay to send it back and wasn't refunded postage. And when it was proven dead (not hard really) I didn't get a full credit and he didn't have any replacements. I was super pissed at the time but then I realised that -

The card was £179 when they were normally £399 (it was the XXX edition, probably why it died but still worth a lot more)

I had it nine months and got a full 12 month warranty.

I ended up with a brand new 5770 with free shipping which at the time was worth about £135. Thing is at that time you could not get the 5770 for love nor money and if you could you were going to pay £150 at least.

So over all I would say that is a minor blip really. They are cheap and customer service at least exists. The turnaround was fast too. I've brought loads of cards from them with no issues. Namely -

A pair of brand new 5770s (one paid one credited to me)

An XFX 8800GTX 768mb graded for £70 (which is still going strong 7 months later)

An XFX 8600GTS for £28.

So yeah, I would use them again.

If I sound harsh then try and remember I lived in the USA for ten years. So I am used to the best customer service. Whilst I agree that the UK is a million times better than when I left (where you used to hand over your money and say goodbye) it has improved ten fold. But the USA kicks so much ass when it comes to the laws and stuff.
