98860 OC3D 24 Core Ultimate Folding Rig

In the meantime you can do a bit of saving so you can afford to run the beast when you put it together.

This is going to be a great build, can wait to see the Cinebench results. I'd like to see how much more powerful these are than the 2687s from the Z9-PE review.
If you get 32GB registered memory sticks you can get 256GB or RAM in it.
I have been lusting after those 12 core Xeons ever since first hearing about them, but they're
a tad expensive for a college student (plus, it's not exactly like I can complain). ;)

So yeah, looking forward to this.
I'm in the same boat, I want some 10 core 2660v2 Xeons but they're at least $1750 AUD, I'm hoping they'll be a more reasonable $1300 AUD in 6 months or so like the 2660v1's were at the beginning of this year.

Alternatively, you could buy a house with that money.

Such is life with enterprise component prices. There's a reason it's a more desireable market
for many companies than the consumer sector.

Yeah, but I'm hopeful about a price drop next year, perhaps closer to haswell-E. I bought the 2650's for close to the USD price. The US RRP is $1393.00 for the Xeon 2660v2's, which is ok, but the AU price is $1750 which I can't do. But it's really just a matter of time before the price drops whether it be 6 months, 12 or 24, the price will get closer to my savings. Then I can sel them to you for an SR-X build or perhaps not after seeing Tom's review.
In regards to the RAM, I don't too much about the 32GB sticks, but you can get second hand 16Gb sticks on ebay for a decent price:

Wow, there is something wrong (or right?) with me. I saw the pic of the board and started drooling...no joke. Damn that thing is beautiful.

28k........

With the H75's running with barely spinning fans max temps are in the 60's

Fans on 100% the temps drop to 50's - not bad for 3x 4770's per CPU!

That CPU sounds, epic. Oh my it costs more than my car :s. One day it shall be mine...
