98860 OC3D 24 Core Ultimate Folding Rig

Rig is full built and testing has finished review will be live shortly

F@H work has begun but all the cores have proven to be an issue - it might be a while before shes working at all of her possible PPD.

Speculation for CPU's only is 500-600 PPD

Anyways heres a few tarty shots for you all.....

Probably because you dont normally see it! It does look good in the flesh too
Yeah I've never seen one in the flesh, I really want another rig with that due xeon goodnes. Sadly though I'd doubt I'll ever be able to afford it/justify it unless I get some super low end xeons. Then again, I don't know anything about xeons so I probably can't do that.

Its not viable for gaming now, in the last review most games run better on a high clocked i7 with less than half the cores!

Its epeen workstation and multi threaded madness

I'm the kind of imbecile that would go for a Dual-Xeon build just for how bloody pretty it looks, even if all I do is game and basic editing/rendering, haha!

mate, I'd get it just for the epeen satisfaction. I'd also love to use it for rendering with my UDK stuff. As you'd imagine, a 8320 is poor for rendering, even when i'm running a proper OC (not my baby's first OC I have on at the mo'). Power draw is scary as well I bet, though not as much as a 9590 with 3 gpus ;).

Mad sexy, drooling over here. Only time I get to touch kit like this is for servers. I would love to be able to mess with it on the enthusiast level. Really interested to see how she does folding if you decide to go the Linux route.

Awesome! Wonder if there's a Linux LiveCD with FAH on it?

EDIT: Oh here's one: https://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=1223. Saves to a USB if there's one available it seems.

Maybe try it out Tom? :D

I dont use opticals really. Ive got a spare small SSD I can use but again I am a total n000b when it comes to Linux - I will pump some scores out for a few days and keep note on the PPD

600PPD on Linux does sound amazing though..... If that prediction is correct I could yapping at SteveHat1's ankles!
