980Ti SLI tripple monitor problems.

I have recently upgraded to 2 980Ti's (my first Nvidia cards) and i cant for the life of me get them to play nicely.

This is how I have them connected:

Which is a supported layout on Nvidias website here (option 5)

I am having issues with both surround with SLI (where I get an error) and also a problem with 'maximise 3d performance' where I can only have 1 monitor for gaming but only 1 other display functioning (not 2 like I have seen people do) it forces 1 display to not operate if I enable SLI.

(drivers up to date)
(clean install of windows (10))

Any help will be much appreciated.

I have 780's in SLi and have 3 screens, I plug them all into one card, unfortunately that means 2 are DVI and 1 is DP. But at least it works.

I have ordered 2 more DP cables but wondering if it can be resolved in the meantime?

One a side note, I also cant boot into windows with more than one display connected.
Any ideas?

Gotta love nvidia drivers eh? (i heard they were bad but... not this bad)

They're really not that bad at all :) but Win 10 was known to have issues with SLi and surround.

For now, try turning surround off and see if you can get all three screens working just as is, I haven't fully tried setting up surround in win10, it always involved some trial and error with picking the right ports on each card.

yeah 3 screens are working just fine (but only when using 1 card)
guess I'll just have to wait for my DP cables.

Ok, I have got all 3 monitors plugged in through DP to my top card and it has fixed the 'maximise 3D performance' issue however I still get display connection error when trying to set up surround

Edit: I'm going to install windows 7 on a separate partition to see if its the drivers. I'll let you all know how that goes.
